It is a given thing that actors, models, singers, and musicians in the entertainment industry earn their success through hard work and talent. While these do come into play (and are the most important ones), there are also a lot of other factors that contribute to the recognition, fame, and success of most entertainers in the industry.
One factor is the hair. When people do an impression or cosplay a certain celebrity, you would most likely recognize who they are imitating because of the wig they wear or how they styled their hair, right?
Well, celebrity hairstyles, in many cases help us to associate popular actors or public figures with their role or job, and in a way, this contributes to an actor’s growing career or popularity. Take Sia, for example, she is known for her platinum bob and bangs, right?
There are also some more celebrities that made their signature hairstyles an iconic trademark. It’s certainly safe to say that these celebrity’s hairstyles have become as recognizable as their faces, and they have benefitted a lot from this. Another example is Elvis Presley’s rockabilly pompadour and Michael Jackson’s long curls.
While it’s clear that their sheer hard work and talent got them to where they are now (even when some have long been dead), it is also an amusing fact that their looks, specifically an iconic hairstyle, led them to be so recognizable to the general public nowadays that it would be weird to find out that someone does not know the reference when they see one.
