Beloved Disney Actress Dead At 48

CoCo Lee is best known for her career with Disney. Lee rose to fame after becoming the voice actress for one of Disney’s most famous movies, Mulan.

Now her family has issued a devastating statement announcing the death of the beloved actress. She was just 48 years old. According to her sisters, Lee had battled depression for quite some time.

Lee’s sister, Carol and Nancy Lee, began their statement writing, “With great sadness, we are here [to] break the most devastating news: CoCo had been suffering from depression for a few years but her condition deteriorated drastically over the last few months,” the sisters wrote.

“Although CoCo sought professional help and did her best to fight depression, sadly that demon inside of her took the better of her. On 2 July, she [attempted] suicide at home and was sent to the hospital. Despite the best efforts of the hospital team to rescue and treat her from her coma, she finally passed away on 5 July.”

Alongside being known as Mulan, Lee was also a well-known pop star in Asia. She signed with Sony Music in 1996.

Lee was not a biological mother, but she was the beloved stepmother of her husband’s two children. Lee was married to Canadian businessman, Bruce Rockowitz.

Our thoughts and prayers remain with Lee’s loved ones during this particularly difficult time.
