News Anchor Reveals Her Husband Passed Away

CNN News anchor Alisyn Camerota recently shared “some very sad and personal news” on Instagram. The news anchor shared a picture from her wedding day. She is wearing a white wedding dress, a veil mainly covering her face, while her husband, Tim Lewis, looks into her eyes.

That picture was taken almost 23 years ago. Now, just weeks before celebrating their anniversary, Camerota decided to share the sad news of her husband’s death.

According to Camerota, Lewis “passed away on July 27th, two years after being diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.” She called her late husband “beloved and extraordinary.” She added, “I cannot imagine any human being soldiering through a devastating diagnosis with more humor, humility and bravery than Tim.”

Camerota wrote, “He was a phenomenal father, husband, friend and role model and the rest of us are left trying to follow in his footsteps.”

About two months after his death, Camerota shared, “The kids and I are still getting our bearings. Tim imbued us with a lot of strength and stability and we’re determined to try to emulate those qualities of his.”

Camerota also explained that her late husband “devoted much of his life to giving back to his community and trying to make life easier for the people around him.” In Lewis’ memory, his family is honoring him by giving back as well.

Camerota explained, “We’ve set up a fund in his memory to help other families enduring a similar struggle. I would be honored if you would consider a contribution.http://give.cv/fight-cancer “

She ended her post by thanking her friends and followers for “your love and letters, trays of lasagna, and the many, many gestures of kindness.I am grateful.”

Lewis’ obituary shares that he was only 58 years old. He is survived by his wife and their three children, a son named Nate and twin daughters named Ale and Cessa. He is also survived by his parents, his brother and sister, their spouses and children and his brother-in-law.
