Beloved designer for ‘Extreme Makeover: Home Edition’ tragically dies at 58

Beloved TV designer Eduardo Xol, best known for his work on “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition”, has died.

According to a report shared by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Xol died on Sept. 20. He was 58.

Fox News reports that Xol died at the Desert Regional Medical Center after sustaining injuries in Palm Springs during an alleged stabbing on Sept. 10. Police say they discovered Xol with a significant number of injuries.

Hours after discovering Xol, Richard Joseph Gonzales called police, claiming he was assaulted. An investigation led to Gonzales’ arrested, Fox News reports.

According to the Desert Sun, Palm Springs police have charged Gonzales with attempted murder.

Police told Fox News that Xol and Joseph did know each other. But a motive for the stabbing has not been reported.

In a statement obtained by The Hollywood Reporter, Xol’s family wrote, “We are heartbroken at the tragic loss of our beloved Eduardo Xol.”

“We know that his kindness has touched the lives of so many. We ask for that kindness returned now allowing our privacy to be respected as we process our grief. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made in Eduardo’s name to the Lupus Foundation of America as he spent so much of his life in the service of others.”
