Heartbreaking confessions as Meghan Markle cried

The prince described how he “felt absolutely helpless” when Meghan Markle experienced a miscarriage in 2020 in his brand-new biography, “Spare.”

In a section of his new biography, “Spare,” Prince Harry writes that after Meghan Markle miscarried in 2020, he “felt absolutely hopeless.”

Harry remembers how in the days following the pregnancy loss, he and his wife “both wept” and grieved.

Harry described the “unborn child” they took with them out of the hospital as “a small parcel” and later buried. “We traveled to a location that was only known to us. The Duke of Sussex stated in a passage that PEOPLE, “I dug a hole with my hands and set the tiny parcel carefully in the ground under a spreading banyan tree, while Meg wept. The shocking memoir debuted on Tuesday across the world.

In a 2020 essay for The New York Times, Markle stated, “I knew, as I clasped my firstborn child, that I was losing her second.” Archie Harrison, the couple’s first child, was one at the time of the miscarriage.

“I experienced a severe cramp after changing [Archie’s] diaper. The happy music was a dramatic contrast to my instinct that something was wrong, so I dropped to the floor with him in my arms while singing a lullaby to make us both quiet,” she wrote.

“Several hours later, I was lying in a hospital bed with my spouse at my side. I kissed his wet knuckles that had been moistened by our tears and felt his palm become clammy. I glazed over as I continued to look at the stark, white walls. I tried to picture how we would recover,” Markle said.

In their brand-new “Harry & Meghan” Netflix docuseries, Harry and Meghan also discuss the tragic miscarriage. Harry opined that she might have miscarried due to the strain of her legal battle with the Mail on Sunday. “I think what the Mail did caused my wife to have a miscarriage. I kept an eye on everything, he claimed.

“At this point, are we certain that the miscarriage was caused by that? We obviously don’t. I can conclude from what I observed that the miscarriage was caused by what they were trying to do to her, Harry added, “[but] taking into account the stress that caused the lack of sleep and the date of the pregnancy, how many weeks into it she was.

Lilibet, a daughter, was born to Markle and Harry in June 2021.
