Adele Announces She Is Taking An Indefinite Break From Music

Grammy award winning singer Adele is saying Farewell for now.

While performing at a concert in Munich, Germany on August 31, the singer announced she is taking a long break. The X video shows her announcement.

โ€œbut after that [10 shows in Vegas], i will not see you for an incredibly long timeโ€ฆ i just need a rest. iโ€™ve spent the last 7 years building the life for myself, I want to live it now. I want to live my new life Iโ€™ve been buildingโ€ โ€” Adele

The Munich concert dates were going to be her last shows of the year; however, her Las Vegas shows were rescheduled due to her illness in March.

Also, she said she may not be on stage again for a long time. โ€œIt has been amazing, I just need a rest,โ€ she said.

Recently, in a July interview with German broadcaster ZDF, Adele hinted that she might soon step back from touring to focus on โ€œother creative endeavors, just for a little while.โ€ This announcement, though surprising to her fans, reflects Adeleโ€™s desire to evolve as an artist and explore new avenues of creativity. While it remains to be seen what these new projects will be.

British singer Adele burst onto the music scene in 2008 with her debut album, โ€œ19,โ€ which was critically acclaimed and commercially successful. The album showcased her soulful voice and ability to convey deep emotion through her music. Tracks like โ€œChasing Pavementsโ€ and โ€œHometown Gloryโ€ quickly established her as a force to be reckoned with in the music industry.

Her second album, โ€œ21,โ€ released in 2011, solidified her status as a global superstar. Featuring hits like โ€œRolling in the Deep,โ€ โ€œSomeone Like You,โ€ and โ€œSet Fire to the Rain,โ€ the album was a massive success, earning Adele numerous awards, including six Grammy Awards.

Adele continued to build on her success with her third album, โ€œ25,โ€ released in 2015. The album included the smash hit โ€œHello,โ€ which became an instant classic and broke records for its music video views. โ€œ25โ€ earned Adele another set of awards, including five more Grammys.

Adele released her last album in 2021. She told fans in January she is planning on eventually producing another album.

Despite her fame, Adele has always remained grounded and private, often shying away from the public eye. She is known for her candidness in interviews, where she speaks openly about her struggles with fame, relationships, and body image.
