Rebecca Jones was a telenova star in Mexico. She was born in Mexico City in 1957 but grew up in California where she attended Laguna Beach High School before studying at the University of Southern California.
In 1981, Jones moved back to Mexico where she had great success as an actress both on stage and on screen. She is best known for projects including “Cuna de lobos,” “Amorosos fantasmas,” “Dias de combate,” and “The Last Call.” Her most recent acting credit is as Caroline in “Nada Que Ver” which translates to “Nothing to See” and has a 2023 release date.
Two weeks ago, Jones posted several photos from the set urging her fans to see her new film.
That was two weeks ago. Now, the sad news had been confirmed by her representative, Danna Vasquez, that the popular actress has died. In a statement, Vasquez shared that Jones “was accompanied at all times by her loved ones. She left in peace and with the utmost gratitude for her audience.”
The statement did not include a cause of death; however, Jones had been suffering from health issues for several years. In 2017, she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Most recently, in November 2022, she was hospitalized for a “lung infection and pneumonia.”

Jones leaves behind her ex-husband, actor Alejandro Camacho. They were married from 1986 – 2011. She also leaves behind her son Maximiliano Camacho Jones. Jones was also step-mom to Camacho’s daughter Francesca Guillén.
Telemundo’s Verónica Bastos has confirmed that her son was one of the people who was with her in her final moments. She was reportedly at home at the time of her death.
Jones was only 65 years old. Rest in peace.
