Retired actor Bruce Willis has been diagnosed with dementia. While that certainly has to be difficult for him, it may be even more difficult for his family.
Since publicly revealing his diagnosis, his family has occasionally offered a peek into what life is like now for the actor. Recently, his daughter Tallulah Willis offered another glimpse in an interview with PEOPLE.
The interview was not about her dad but rather her collaboration with luxury silk brand Kumi Kookoon; however, the conversation did make it’s way to Bruce’s health.
During the interview, Tallulah shared that even though she is quite busy, she visits her dad when she can, but she also has to prepare herself mentally for the visits. She said, “I’ll go visit my dad and spend some time with him.”
She added that since she doesn’t know how the visit will go, she will “go into it open to what the visit is, and knowing that before I go in, I’m solid. I’m okay.” She continued, “I’ve done what I need to do to make sure that I can just be present.”
As far as Bruce’s current health, Tallulah shared that he is “doing the same in terms of the last we kind of updated, which I’m told is good.” She added, “But whatever kind of day it is, my family and I meet him where he’s at.” That makes it sound like there are good days and there are not so good days.
Meanwhile, Tallulah is dealing with her own diagnosis of autism. When talking about blankets she is designing, she explained, “And as I’m learning more about my autism and my sensory stuff, there is something very safe and special about that weighted feeling.”
