Selena Gomez is sharing major news.
During the evening hours of Dec. 11, the actress and singer took to Instagram to share several Instagram photos with the caption, “Forever begins now.”
The first photo in the carousel showcased Gomez’s left hand with a massive diamond ring on her ring finger.
Gomez and her longtime boyfriend, music producer Benny Blanco are engaged.
In the comment section, Blanco commented, writing, “hey wait… that’s my wife.”
And several of their famous friends followed suit, including her best friend, Taylor Swift. “Yes, I will be the flower girl,” she joked.
And Nina Dobrev, who also recently got engaged, also offered her congratulations.
“YES !!!! Congratulations!!!!! So happy for you both!!!!” she wrote.
One photo shows where Blanco popped the question. Gomez is seen gazing at her diamond as she sits on a picnic blanket surrounded by Taco Bell and champagne.
After spending her entire life in the spotlight, Gomez is getting honest in a way many of her fans have never seen her before.
In the past, Gomez has been open about her many health issues over the years, including her ongoing battle with Lupus that resulted in her needing a kidney transplant.
However, in her recent interview with Vanity Fair, Gomez is now sharing how those health battles have created obstacles for her future, mainly her future family.
“I haven’t ever said this,” she said told Vanity Fair’s October issue, “but I unfortunately can’t carry my own children.”
Gomez explained that she has “a lot of medical issues that would put my life and the baby’s in jeopardy. That was something I had to grieve for a while,” she admits
“It’s not necessarily the way I envisioned it,” the actress shared. “I thought it would happen the way it happens for everyone,” Gomez said of carrying a child.
“[But] I’m in a much better place with that. I find it a blessing that there are wonderful people willing to do surrogacy or adoption, which are both huge possibilities for me,” she continued.
“I’m excited for what that journey will look like, but it’ll look a little different. At the end of the day, I don’t care. It’ll be mine. It’ll be my baby.”
At the time, Gomez also talked about Blanco as engagement rumors have been swirling around them for months.
While they weren’t engaged then, she did say that she’s “never been loved this way. He’s just been a light. A complete light in my life. He’s my best friend. I love telling him everything.”
In fact, despite both of them wanting kids, the singer said she doesn’t feel pressure to get married anytime soon. “We always make sure we’re protecting what we have, but there’s no rules.
“I want him to always be himself. I always want to be myself.” Which for Gomez also means not changing her last name.
