Dayle Haddon passed away in Bucks County, Pennsylvania on Dec. 27, according to local authorities.
The 76-year-old former actress and supermodel was at her daughter Ryan Haddon’s home when police were dispatched to the property around 6:30 a.m., per CBS News.
The initial 911 caller reported that a 76-year-old man had passed out on the first floor of the home, which Ryan Haddon owns with her husband, Hallmark actor Marc Blucas.
The 76-year-old man, who remains anonymous, was removed from the property and taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Jersey, where he is now receiving treatment.
As the investigation continued, authorities found a second victim, later identified as Dayle Haddon, in a second-floor bedroom of the in-law suite. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Haddon appeared on the cover of the 1973 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and worked with several major cosmetic companies, including Revlon, Max Factor, Estée Lauder and L’Oréal, during her career.
She’s also known for her roles in “The World’s Greatest Athlete” (1973), “Madame Claude” (1977), “North Dallas Forty” (1979) and much more.
“Preliminary investigation is showing that a heating unit malfunctioned exposing a large amount of carbon monoxide within the carriage house,” said Detective Sgt. Jonathan Koretzky, per CBS News.
The police report also notes that two medics were transported to a local hospital for carbon monoxide exposure, while one police officer was treated at the scene.
It’s unclear if Ryan Haddon and Blucas were in the home at the time of the incident, but ABC 6 reported that “family members in the main house on the property were not affected.”
Eliot Gross, the deputy coroner of Bucks County, says toxicology reports for Dayle Haddon are expected on Saturday, per USA Today. The investigation is ongoing, as of Dec. 28.
Ryan Haddon shares lengthy tribute for her mother on Instagram
On Dec. 27, Ryan Haddon, a former journalist, took to Instagram to share a lengthy tribute alongside dozens of photos of her mother’s modeling and philanthropic career.
“The bright light that is Dayle has dimmed in this Earthly realm. Shining somewhere as radiantly as ever where it’s most needed, I have no doubt,” Ryan Haddon wrote in the caption.
Some of the photos she shared were of her mother working as an ambassador for the humanitarian aid organization UNICEF — something Dayle Haddon was heavily invested in.
“She was a woman in her power, yet soft and attentive to all. Deeply creative and curious, gifted with beauty inside and out. Always kind and thoughtful,” Ryan Haddon continued.
She described her mother as “everyone’s greatest champion” and an “inspiration to many.”
“She was a high-hearted spiritual being that put value on her soul’s evolution, so I know her journey here in this dimension must have been complete,” Ryan Haddon wrote.
“I honor her. I bow to her. I revere all the paths and adventures taken. I saw her be golden and always reach for the Light in all areas of her life,” she added.
According to CBS News, Ryan Haddon and her husband purchased their Pennsylvania home, which was built in 1711, in 2012 for around $1 million.
Blucas has mentioned in past interviews that they wanted to move to the East Coast to be closer to family, which is why they bought the farmhouse to begin with.
“It’s the only part of the United States that has that kind of architecture with old stone barns and old stone houses,” Blucas said in a 2016 interview with Hallmark.
The couple have been renovating the home ever since they bought it 12 years ago.
“A pure heart. A rich inner life. Touching so many lives. A life well lived,” Ryan Haddon concluded in her tribute. “Rest in Light, Mom.”
