Donald Trump’s latest gift to his granddaughter has set social media abuzz, with many weighing in on the unexpected choice.

The 47th U.S. president recently opened up about an extravagant present he gave his 17-year-old granddaughter, Kai Trump, sparking all sorts of reactions from the public.

Trump delighted his granddaughter with a Tesla Cybertruck, a vehicle with a price tag ranging from $81,985 to $101,985 as per Car and Driver.

Donald explained that he made the purchase about a year ago. This futuristic vehicle has soon become a hit with Kai, who is preparing to join the University of Miami’s golf team. In October 2024, she flaunted her silver Cybertruck before heading to her school’s homecoming event.

In a video shared by Daily Mail, the former president can be heard talking about this decision. “It was for someone incredibly special, you know, Kai,” he shared.

“She’s got great talent in golf, puts her gear in the back, and this vehicle seems to fit her needs perfectly, she really enjoys it,” he added with a smile.

 

The public’s response to the news was a fascinating mix of awe and curiosity.

Over on Instagram, someone simply said, “Omg.”

Kai often showers admiration upon her grandfather through various gestures.

In her Instagram post dated November 5, 2024, she featured photos of herself with her grandparent on the golf course, including some with his other grandchildren. Her heartfelt caption read, “You inspire us all. I love you Grandpa 🫶.”

Just a few days later, on November 11, she delighted her followers with another image series labeled, “Sundays with Grandpa 💛.” The photos showed Trump watching her golf and Kai alongside Elon Musk and his son on the course.

During the Republican National Convention on July 18, 2024, Kai spoke about her grandfather, sharing glimpses of their relationship.

“He’s just a regular grandpa to me. Someone who sneaks us candy and sweets when no one’s watching. He always checks on our school progress, and when I did make the high honor roll, he proudly shared it with his friends,” she recounted.

Talking about their golfing times, she reflected, “Though he tries to mess with my focus during games, I still hold my ground, reminding him, ‘I’m a Trump, too.’”

“He’s deeply caring and affectionate, committed to his country’s prosperity and tirelessly striving to make America great again,” Kai concluded.
