John Mellencamp Arranges Burial Plans With Daughter Teddi Amid Her Stage 4 Cancer Battle

Teddi Mellencamp recently opened up on her podcast about a candid conversation she had with her father, John Mellencamp, regarding her final resting place.

The 43-year-old Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum, who is currently battling stage four cancer, shared that her father reached out to ask if she wanted to be included in their family mausoleum in Indiana.

Though Teddi admitted she wasn’t in a hurry to make such a heavy decision, her father gently reminded her that since she’s already working on her will, it might make sense to go ahead and secure a spot in the family plot. Her Father even called 11 times to get the plans in order.

“Finally, I answer, I’m like, ‘I’m in the bath. Let me live a little,’” Teddi recalled on the Tuesday, April 8, episode of “Two Ts in a Pod” podcast, “He goes, ‘I just want to make sure you’re going to be in our group family mausoleum.”

Teddi responded by saying she wasn’t sure about joining the mausoleum, as she has children and didn’t know where they would fit into the arrangement. She shares three kids—Slate, 12, Cruz, 10, and Dove, 5—with her estranged husband Edwin Arroyave, who also has an older daughter, Isabella, from a previous relationship.

Despite her hesitation, John Mellencamp appeared more than willing to make room for all of them at the family mausoleum in Indiana.

“He’s like, ‘Well, there’s going to be the top five and then we’re gonna have little areas around it, and then that’s where everyone’s going to get buried,’” she went on.

“He goes, ‘You’re doing your will right now, so you may as well put it in there,’” she said.

Teddi agreed, and added, “I’m gonna have to work on my sister next week. The kids will be right behind me.”

Teddi recently marked a significant milestone in her cancer journey—completing her final round of radiation. On Thursday, April 3, she celebrated the achievement by ringing the hospital’s ceremonial bell, a tradition that symbolizes the end of treatment.

Mellencamp first disclosed in February that she was undergoing treatment for multiple brain tumors. She had surgery and began a course of radiation soon after. However, in late March, doctors discovered four additional tumors on her brain, marking a new and difficult chapter in her ongoing battle.
