Jamie Lee Curtis’s Heartfelt Comments on Charlie Kirk’s Tragic Death

Jamie Lee Curtis Speaks with Emotion on Marc Maronโ€™s Podcast

In a heartfelt moment, actress Jamie Lee Curtis shared her thoughts on the tragic death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Her comments came during an episode of Marc Maron’s WTF podcast, where she openly discussed the emotional impact of witnessing such a tragic event through viral videos.

On September 10, Charlie Kirk, aged 31, tragically lost his life in a fatal shooting at an outdoor event held at an educational institute in Utah. The investigation into his untimely death is ongoing, according to the FBI.

Jamie Lee Curtis, known for her roles in films like Knives Out, voiced her condemnation of the shooting. During her conversation with Marc Maron, she candidly expressed her feelings about Kirk’s death at Utah Valley University, reflecting deeply on the implications of such violence in our society.

โ€œIโ€™m bringing this up because itโ€™s at the forefront of my mind,โ€ Curtis mentioned thoughtfully, referring to her thoughts following the episode airing on Sunday, September 15.

Although she mistakenly referred to Kirk as ‘Charlie Crist,’ Curtis corrected herself, noting she disagreed with Kirk’s views but acknowledged his depth of faith. โ€œI disagreed with him on almost every point I ever heard him say, but I believe he was a man of faith… and I hope in that moment… he felt connected with his faith,โ€ she expressed with sincerity.

Curtis, fighting back tears, acknowledged the distress caused by circulating videos of Kirkโ€™s assassination. Reflecting on familiar echoes from past events, she said, โ€œWeโ€™ve repeatedly seen haunting images, like those from 9/11… We’re constantly bombarded with these visuals, unsure of the long-term effects on our minds.โ€

Concerned about the psychological impact, Curtis added, โ€œWe donโ€™t know enough about the psychological effects… I never want to see footage of such tragic moments.โ€

Curtis isnโ€™t alone in her concern and mourning. Other prominent figures like Marvel actor Chris Pratt, former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, and media personality Jake Paul have also voiced their sadness over Kirk’s passing.

Former U.S. presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden issued statements too, with President Biden condemning the violence, saying, โ€œIt must end now. Jill and I are praying for Charlie Kirkโ€™s family and loved ones.โ€

Vice President Kamala Harris expressed her disturbance over the incident, labeling the shooting as โ€˜deeply troublingโ€™ and highlighted the need for change.

The arrest of Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old from Utah, was made shortly after the shooting, with investigations still underway as noted by state Governor Spencer Cox. The suspect reportedly remains uncooperative, showing multiple warning signs as noted by FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino.

The agency is leaving no stone unturned in understanding whether this was part of a broader operation, highlighting the complexities of current societal issues.
