Donald Trump Criticized for Speech at Charlie Kirk’s Memorial

Unexpected Turn During Trumpโ€™s Tribute to Charlie Kirk

Donald Trump has been the center of controversy following his speech at Charlie Kirkโ€™s memorial service in Arizona. The event, held at the State Farm Stadium, drew a large crowd in mourning for the political activist who passed away earlier in the month.

Trump, a close ally of Kirk who greatly supported his political resurgence, delivered the final speech of the day. Kirk, who was 31, tragically lost his life after an incident at Utah Valley University on September 10.

The memorial service featured an emotional tribute from Charlieโ€™s wife, Erika, which was followed by Trump’s commencement at the podium to substantial applause. However, the applause soon turned to bewilderment as the speech diverged from honoring Kirk to addressing unexpected topics.

In his initial comments, Trump praised Kirk, saying, โ€œLess than two weeks ago, our country was robbed of one of the brightest lights of our times, a giant of his generation, and above all, a devoted husband, father, son, Christian, and patriot. Charles James Kirk was heinously murdered by a radicalised, cold-blooded monster for speaking the truth.โ€

Following this tribute, Trump veered off into the topic of autism, making claims about significant upcoming developments. He stated, โ€œTomorrow we are going to announce the biggest medical breakthrough in the history of the country… I believe we have found an answer to autism.โ€

He explained further, โ€œIโ€™ve been urging everyone to solve autism. How to assist children, how to prevent itโ€”it’s a huge priority for families.โ€

Previously, similar promises were made at an event hosted by the American Cornerstone Institute, where he said, โ€œWe will make an important announcement on autism on Monday. It’s likely one of the most significant things weโ€™ll achieve.โ€

The Washington Post noted that upcoming announcements might attempt to connect autism with expectant mothers using Tylenol. Current medical advice deems Tylenol as safe for use during pregnancy.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Health Secretary, has perpetuated ideas suggesting an โ€˜autism epidemicโ€™ is bolstered by โ€˜environmental toxins.โ€™ Despite such theories, numerous research studies have failed to find any link between autism and pharmaceuticals or vaccines, as reported by CNN.

Trumpโ€™s off-track remarks during the memorial service were met with immediate criticism online. Users took to the platform X to voice their opinions, questioning the appropriateness of his speech.

One user remarked, โ€œCome on, Donald Trumpโ€ฆ this is supposed to be a memorial service. Stick to the topic.โ€

Another voice chimed in, โ€œDonald Trump is hijacking the service for Charlie Kirk to discuss his supposed solution to autism.โ€

A third opinion noted, โ€œDonald Trump has just claimed he’ll resolve the issue of autism.โ€
