It was October 2018 during the vibrant celebrations of their cousin Princess Eugenie’s wedding that Harry and Meghan decided to unveil their special news to William and Kate.

Harry poignantly expressed, “Euge was marrying Jack, a moment of happiness for her, and for us, because Jack had become a cherished friend.”

He continued, “Meg and I had an upcoming official tour as a newlywed couple, but we postponed it to partake in the wedding celebrations.”

According to Harry, the wedding festivities offered an ideal setting to share their news with family members individually.

“After the reception, we found a quiet moment in St George’s Hall and gently broke the news to Willy,” Harry recalls.

Amidst the grandeur of the room filled with royal armor, Harry described the surreal aura surrounding the announcement. William’s response was touching: “We must tell Kate,” he insisted.

Despite being in conversation across the room, Kate responded with joy when informed, offering warm congratulations. Harry was gratified by their reactions, just as he had hoped.

Harry also shared the heartfelt moment of informing King Charles, who was “delighted” at the prospect of being a grandfather for the fourth time.

Despite the soaring emotions tied to these family moments, Harry later expressed that he maintains a “clear conscience” following the memoir’s release.

Addressing public criticism, Harry clarified that he did not expose private family matters but offered a “series of corrections to existing narratives.”

In a discussion with the Guardian, Harry stated, “I didn’t air any private disputes. It was a necessary message and my conscience is clear.”

He acknowledged that speaking openly might disrupt established narratives but emphasized the importance of providing his own truthful perspective.
