Evil ‘Deadpool’ killer looks unrecognizable in new photos behind bars

The latest prison photos unveil a haunting transformation of Wade Wilson, infamously nicknamed the โ€œDeadpool killer.โ€ Once portraying a polished image, he now appears disheveled and bloated, his notable Joker-style skeletal tattoo accentuating his new, unsettling look.

Serving a death sentence since 2024, Wade Wilson’s notorious moniker is shared with Ryan Reynoldsโ€™ celebrated antihero. Wilson was condemned for the horrific 2019 murders of Kristine Melton and Diane Ruiz. The brutal nature of these offenses has left even veteran investigators deeply disturbed, according to WFLA, an NBC affiliate.

Wilsonโ€™s trail of terror began with the strangling of Melton in her Cape Coral home, followed by the theft of her car. Just hours later, a chance encounter with Ruiz turned deadly. Asking him for directions led to her being lured into the vehicle, only to suffer the same strangling fate. Wilson’s violence escalated as he callously ran over Ruiz with the stolen car, a chilling act described in court by Assistant State Attorney Andreas Gardiner as a barbaric attempt to dehumanize her.

Confession and death row

During his trial, a chilling confession emerged from Wilson, who admitted, โ€œI choked her out until she couldnโ€™t breathe anymoreโ€ฆIt came across my mind to murder, just kill, kill, kill.โ€ This startling statement contributed to the juryโ€™s swift two-hour deliberation, which concluded with a unanimous verdict finding him guilty of multiple felonies, including two counts of first-degree murder, burglary, grand theft, and battery. The death penalty was favored by ten jurors.

Currently, Wilson resides on death row at Florida’s Union Correctional Institution in Raiford, becoming one of 256 inmates awaiting their grim fate in the state.

Women drawn to โ€˜evilโ€™ figure

Remarkably, despite his horrendous actions, Wilson has amassed an unsettling fan base. Reports from the New York Post reveal an influx of adoring letters from women who astonishingly beg for mercy on his behalf, depicting him as โ€œmisunderstood.โ€ The depth of this fascination is captured in statistics, with Wilson receiving up to 4,000 messages, many containing explicit photos later confiscated by corrections officers.

State Attorney Amira Fox harshly criticized this bewildering adulation post-conviction, stating, โ€œIt’s shocking to see some people in the community actually support someone as evil and monstrous as Wade Wilson. His idolization by some is simply troubling.โ€

Changes behind bars

Between 2023 and 2024, Wilsonโ€™s time in Lee County Jail, notably after surviving a drug overdose, brought further transformation. Each session on his issued prison tablet triggered an automatic photograph.

These images, released via a Freedom of Information request and circulated by crime vlogger Melissa Jade, show a startling change. Gone is the courtroom gentleman; in his stead stands a man with wild, curly hair and an unhealthy, misshapen appearance. The once meticulously groomed image is replaced with raw physical decline, underscoring prisonโ€™s harsh toll.

The skeletal tattoo inspires a sense of foreboding, amplifying Wilsonโ€™s menacing new look. A particularly telling image features a bandaged head, signifying perhaps an incident or injury.

Wade Wilsonโ€™s initially polished facade has eroded, revealing a sobering testament to the reality of prison life and the actions that landed him behind bars.
