First Lady Melania Trump, along with Second Lady Usha Vance, recently visited military families in North Carolina, marking their first joint engagement. During this visit, which included spending quality time with servicemen, women, and their children, Melania delivered a sobering message about the future.
The visit took place at Camp Lejeune, the prominent Marine Corps base on the East Coast. Here, Melania and Usha interacted warmly with military families and stopped by Lejeune High School. They were greeted by students and participated in discussions centered around Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Addressing a gathering in the school gym, Melania shared her heartfelt gratitude with the families for their unwavering commitment and service to the nation.
However, the beginning of the address faced a hiccup. Technical glitches with the microphone caused an unsettling screech, leading Melania to pause and pass the microphone over for a fix.
Once the issue was resolved, she continued, “I want to thank all of you because you are the backbone of our nation’s defense, and we are grateful for your service,” Melania said. “My husband, the president, sends his warm regards. We are both thinking of you, especially during the holidays, and you are in our thoughts and prayers every day.”
Melania Trump Discusses AI: A Serious Warning for the Future
Melania and Usha took the opportunity to delve into discussions with high school students about AI. This topic is not new to the First Lady, as she had addressed it back in September, during a meeting of the White House Task Force on Artificial Intelligence Education. Her Be Best campaign highlights AI’s impact on children.
At Camp Lejeune, Melania chose to address a critical subject. With Marines and their families as her audience, she issued a significant warning concerning the evolving nature of warfare and the role of AI.
Melania emphasized, “AI will transform the way we conduct war more significantly than any technological advancement since nuclear arms.” She stressed that the hallmark of future conflicts will be speed, driven by increasing automation. “Artificial Intelligence will claim a pivotal role in future battlefields,” Melania stated solemnly.
