A few years ago, audio clips revealing her discontent with the holiday decor responsibilities surfaced, painting a rather unflattering picture.

At the White House, the arrival of the customary Christmas tree marks a significant event. Shared via the official First Lady X account on November 24, a video showed the tree making its entrance at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, where First Lady Melania Trump welcomed it, ushering in the holiday season.
“It’s a beautiful tree,” the First Lady expressed.
Melania embraced the festive spirit, donning red leather gloves and stylish plaid pointed-toe pumps that complemented her elegant white Dior coat. As often happens, her outfit stirred a flurry of opinions on social media, with some showers of praise and a sprinkle of jibes.
“Melania always shines with radiance; she looks magnificent in white and so graceful in heels. Timeless beauty,” expressed one admirer as reported by the Mirror.
Another shared, “Amazing style and sophistication.”
“Could FLOTUS be any more glamorous! Simply stunning!” commented a third.
On the flip side, not everyone was captivated by her attire.

In 2020, CNN received a leaked audio clip recorded by Melania’s former friend and advisor, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff.
The recording dates back to the summer of 2018, where Melania was heard expressing frustration over her Christmas duties. Her sentiments were compounded by criticism her husband faced over his administration’s policy of separating families who crossed the southern border illegally.
“They say I’m complicit. I’m just like him, that I support him. They claim I don’t say or do enough. Meanwhile, I’m working my heart out on the Christmas stuff, which frankly, who really cares about the Christmas obligations and decor? But it’s my duty to do it, right?” Melania expressed.
She went on, “I proceed with my Christmas tasks and try working things out, then criticism hits about neglecting the separated children issue. Spare me the judgment. What about when Obama did it? I was attempting to reunite kids with their mothers, but couldn’t, it’s a legal and procedural matter.”
