Authorities from the Los Angeles Police Department are currently investigating this tragic event, which they are treating as a potential homicide.

Their son, Nick Reiner, has been taken into custody and is being held on a $4 million bond, according to jail records.

Aside from his passion for filmmaking, Rob Reiner was deeply committed to political causes. The LA Times recognized him as a substantial figure in the Democratic Party, particularly applauding his advocacy for gay marriage and early childhood education.

Reiner’s approach to politics was notably different from the typical celebrity involvement. His defense of Biden, despite critiques of the President’s age, was straightforward: “Would you rather have an old guy in charge or someone with a history of lies and criminal charges?”

“He’s old,” Reiner said about Biden, emphasizing that age was preferable to Trump’s alleged criminality.

In response to the news of Reiner’s death, Donald Trump released a heated statement suggesting their deaths were related to what he called “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”

Trump wrote on Truth Social, “Sad news from Hollywood. Rob Reiner, once a talented director, has passed, along with his wife, Michele. Many blame his intense, incurable case of TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME for their tragic deaths.”
