Donald Trump Suffered a Stroke Last Year, Claims Doctor

A recent claim by a doctor suggests that President Donald Trump experienced a stroke last year, an event that he has reportedly tried to keep from the public eye.

Bruce Davidson, a professor at Washington State University, has come forward with what he asserts is evidence supporting his claim, as reported by the Daily Beast. According to him, Trump had a significant health issue several months ago.

The medical expert from Washington State Universityโ€™s college of medicine has shared details indicating what side of the brain he believes was affected by the stroke.

The Doctor’s Assertion

During a podcast called The Court of History, Professor Davidson provided insights by saying, โ€œI think his stroke was on the left side of the brain, which controls the right side of the body.โ€

He continued, mentioning that the occurrence could have been more than six months ago, early in 2025.

Professor Davidson mentioned videos depicting Trump with a noticeable shuffling of his feetโ€”a significant change from his usual confident stride observed on golf courses.

He observed, โ€œWeโ€™ve seen him holding his right hand cradled in his left,โ€ along with earlier instances in 2025 where Trump appeared to garble his words, which has reportedly improved since then.

In addition to these signs, the professor highlighted Trumpโ€™s experiences of hypersomnolenceโ€”or excessive daytime sleepinessโ€”as further evidence of a likely stroke. He noted that Trump has occasionally seemed to nod off during public events at the White House, a common effect in stroke patients.

Another point in Davidsonโ€™s analysis is footage of Trump disembarking from Air Force One, where he uses his left hand to grip the railing despite being right-handed. This too could hint at a stroke on the left side of the brain, Davidson proposes.

While the notion of Trump himself confirming such a claim is uncertain, Davidson did conclude that if his assessment is correct, the President appears to have made significant recovery.

Concerns About Trumpโ€™s Health

Speculation around Trumpโ€™s health has been a topic of discussion recently. The 79-year-oldโ€™s visible bruising in public, which attempts to mask with makeup have failed to hide, and his periodic online rants have left many questioning his cognitive state.

Trumpโ€™s appearance at a 9/11 commemoration, where his face seemed to visibly droop, brought online rumors suggesting a stroke. However, no official confirmation has been made regarding any such diagnosis.

In a recent podcast chat with Katie Miller, U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. commented on Trumpโ€™s dietary habits, expressing his surprise at the Presidentโ€™s continued health.

โ€œThe interesting thing about the president is that he eats really bad food, such as McDonaldโ€™s, candy, and Diet Coke,โ€ remarked RFK.

โ€œHe constantly drinks Diet Coke. How he remains healthy is astounding,โ€ he further stated.

Reaffirming his claims, Professor Davidson argued on The Court of History podcast that Trumpโ€™s erratic and unpredictable governance style in his second presidency term might reflect behavioral changes typical in stroke survivors.

โ€œItโ€™s a sobering, life-altering event, and reactions vary greatly,โ€ Davidson noted. โ€œSome individuals become introspective, while others might feel jubilant, ready to seize lifeโ€™s opportunities as another stroke may not spare them.โ€

The White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt dismissed the claims, replying firmly that President Trump remains in excellent overall health.

Leavitt affirmed, โ€œPresident Trumpโ€™s consistent work ethic, boundless energy, and open accessibility sharply contrast with the previous administrationโ€™s efforts to hide Joe Bidenโ€™s declining mental and physical health from the public.โ€

โ€œThe mediaโ€™s push of these baseless attacks on President Trump contributes to the growing distrust in the media,โ€ she stated.
