White House Asserts Trump’s Achievements Deserve Nobel Recognition

Donald Trump’s Unyielding Belief in Earning a Nobel Peace Prize

The White House has expressed a clear message to the Nobel Foundation, advocating for acknowledgment of Donald Trump’s significant successes since his re-election, following his absence from the Nobel Peace Prize winner’s list last year.

The 2025 Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado for her commendable efforts in promoting “democratic rights for the people of Venezuela.” This decision was made even though Trump strongly believed he deserved the accolade.

Machado received recognition not only from the Nobel committee but also from the U.S. president, who welcomed her to the Oval Office after she praised him for his role in the capture of Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro.

During their meeting, Trump was notably photographed with the Nobel Peace Prize medal. Machado elaborated in a Fox News interview, “I presented the President of the United States the medal, the peace, the Nobel Peace Prize.” Her words highlighted Trump’s supposed “unique commitment with our freedom.”

The Foundation’s Stance on Prize Ownership

Post-meeting, the Nobel Foundation reiterated its policy: the prizes are awarded exclusively to those who have significantly benefitted humanity, and once awarded, can’t be passed on or distributed further, even symbolically.

This clarification drew a strong reaction from White House Communications Director Steven Cheung, who contended that Trump “rightfully deserves” the Nobel Peace Prize. He asserted that since his return to office, Trump had put an end to “at least eight wars.”

Cheung stated on X, “The @NobelPrize needs to recognize President Trump for achieving peace in myriad conflicts instead of engaging in political maneuvering.”

Machado’s Allegiance to Trump’s Efforts

Earlier, Machado voiced her dedication of the Nobel Peace Prize to Trump, emphasizing his critical role following Maduro’s arrest. She told Fox News, “Upon learning about our Nobel Peace Prize, I dedicated it to Trump, knowing he merited it.”

Her conviction stemmed from what many deemed an impossible feat – achieving a peaceful resolution on January 3, which marked a profound victory for justice over oppression. Machado believes this event holds significant meaning, offering monumental steps forward for the Venezuelan populace and broader implications for freedom and dignity worldwide.
