The news about beloved actor Anthony Hopkins comes as a shock.

Fans of Hopkins have bad news. The Welsh actor, best remembered for his performance in The Silence of the Lambs, is rumored to be retiring from acting at the age of 85, effective immediately.

Acting is no longer enjoyable.

He may have said, according to a source who asked to remain unnamed, “As we get older, there are periods of life that we enter into, and being an actor just isn’t fun anymore.” Other sources, which didn’t offer any details, suggested that he would venture into other creative sectors that he is better at (and more interested in).

On Monday night, the hashtag #ThankYouAnthony briefly gained traction on Twitter. Some admirers may be curious as they reflect on all the wonderful moments and recall their favorite moments with him.

47 years of sobriety have been achieved by Anthony Hopkins.

The two-time Oscar winner celebrated on Thursday by posting a motivational message about the importance of self-love on Instagram.

Hopkins, 84, said, “I simply want to wish everyone a happy new year and to say I’m celebrating 47 years of sobriety today. “This letter isn’t meant to be serious, but I do hope it will be useful. I’m an alcoholic in recovery. I am aware that there are many who are struggling, so to you out there.”

He continued, “Be gentle to yourself in this day and age of cancel and hatred and non-compromise, children being bullied. “Be considerate. If someone offends you, avoid engaging with them in poisonous relationships. Enjoy your life. Be happy with your life.”

Hopkins continued by remembering his own “desperate condition, in despair,” which he had gone through over 50 years before to becoming clean and when he had “certainly not long to live.”

The actor remarked, “I just had to admit one day that there was something genuinely wrong with me. “I had no idea it was a type of addiction or alcoholism, a mental, physical, and emotional illness. In addition, I have no expertise in the field of pharmaceuticals. I lack knowledge. However, I’ve discovered a life where I’m not bullied.”

Hopkins said, “I want to tell all you young people who are being bullied to take note – you be proud of yourself. “Don’t pay attention to them. Don’t allow others to diminish you. Anxiety and depression can occasionally coexist in the human experience. Life is hard.”

“However, talk to someone if you need assistance with any addictions or problems. If you want to go to a 12-step program or talk to a counselor, do so with someone you respect “He said. “There are 12-step programs in every city and country in the globe that can help you figure out who you are. You will have a completely new life as a result, and it won’t cost you anything.”

Hopkins continued by joking that he is “an old sinner, like everyone” and that he is “not a do-gooder,” but still, he has “the best life he could [possibly] dream.”

“So, seek assistance wherever you are. Be not ashamed, “The Two Popes actor was optimistic. “In everything you do, be proud of yourself. Never allow anyone to diminish you. If you’re going to be upset, upset them. Gratify yourself.”

“Wishing everyone a healthy 2023,” he wrote in the description of the image.
