Sharon Osbourne Reveals Surprise Hospitalization That Kept Her From Ozzy Tribute

Sharon Osbourne is updating fans on her health after missing a special tribute to her late husband, Ozzy Osbourne.

The 73-year-old revealed that an unexpected hospital visit earlier in the week prevented her from attending the unveiling of Ozzyโ€™s statue at Franceโ€™s Hellfest on June 18. Sharing the news onย social media, Sharon explained that she was recovering and thanked supporters for their well wishes.

Over the years, Sharon has faced several serious health challenges, including a medical emergency in 2022 that led to a hospital stay. Despite her absence from the ceremony, she has remained focused on preserving Ozzyโ€™s legacy.

The Hellfest statue unveiling was held in honor of Ozzyโ€™s enduring impact on rock music, though Sharon was unable to attend due to her health setback.

โ€œIโ€™m sorry I couldnโ€™t be at Hellfest for the unveiling of Ozzyโ€™s statue. Unfortunately I had an unexpected trip to the hospital earlier in the week,โ€ Sharon posted to Instagram. โ€œA big thank you Olivier Garnier, Ben Barbaud and everyone at Hellfest. Special thank you toย @philippe_pasqua_officielย for the absolutely stunning statue! ๐Ÿ™โ€

Sharon did not share additional details about her recent hospital visit, but she has been candid about herย health strugglesย over the years.

In 2022, she was hospitalized following a sudden medical emergency while filming. Speaking on the U.K.โ€™s The Talk in January 2023, Sharon recalled unexpectedly fainting on set.

โ€œIt was the weirdest thing,โ€ she said at the time. โ€œI was doing some filming and suddenly they told me that I passed out for 20 minutes.โ€

She explained that she underwent extensive testing after being transferred between two hospitals, but doctors were unable to determine what caused the episode.

Earlier, in 2020, Sharon was briefly hospitalized after testing positive for COVID-19.

The television personality has also faced a much more serious health battle. In 2002, she was diagnosed withย colon cancerย after doctors discovered she was severely anemic and ordered a colonoscopy. Sharon underwent surgery followed by weekly chemotherapy treatments. The diagnosis became even more challenging when she learned the cancer had spread to her lymph nodes, a development she later admitted was difficult to process.

Despite the setback, Sharon successfully beat the disease and has remained in remission. She famously allowed cameras to document her cancer journey during the second season of The Osbournes, helping raise awareness about the illness.

More recently, Sharon has focused on preserving her late husband Ozzy Osbourneโ€™s legacy. Earlier this month, she and son Jack Osbourne revealed plans to use artificial intelligence technology to create a digital version of the rock legend, saying they are embracing new technology to ensure future generations can continue to connect with him.
