Following a positive test for cocaine, actress Michelle Pfeiffer informed her devoted following on Sunday that she would not be attending the Critics’ Choice Awards as previously planned.
Fans were already dismayed by this turn of events, but her announcement made them much more anxious for an entirely different reason. Michelle could have easily accompanied the announcement of her positive Covid test with a photograph of the test itself, but instead, she chose to upload a picture of actor Jeff Bridges, which led her followers to believe that Bridges had passed away.
Michelle shared her regret on social media by posting a photo of her former co-star Jeff. At the time, Jeff was going to be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award, and Michelle was going to be absent from the ceremony.
“I’m so sorry that I won’t be able to attend today’s Critics’ Choice Awards. Absolutely, Covid. I am really upset that I will not be able to watch @thejeffbridges get his Lifetime Achievement Award “she had written.
Fans left the following comments on the photo: “My tummy fell when I first saw this,” “Don’t scare me, I thought he passed away,” and “Every time someone posts a pic of a star I always get really worried!”
Although Michelle did not disclose how she is currently feeling about Covid, Rita Wilson, who is married to Tom Hanks, wrote: “To which Rita replied, “Feeling better already, buddy,” Michelle replied, “Feeling better already!” Thanks!”
Fans have been perplexed by the fact that Michelle has been wearing a mask whenever she goes for walks outside in order to avoid catching Covid.
“Are you still hiding your identity behind that mask because of Covid or because you want others to be unable to recognize you?” One person inquired as another offered a comment, “I had to ask, why are you wearing that mask?”
A third person asked, “Why are you hiding your face?” in their note. whereas a number of people noted that masks aren’t required.
Although Michelle did not respond to their questions, supporters did defend her decision, with one of them stating as follows: “The use of masks provides an additional measure of anonymity. And some resistance from pollen.”
