Kelly Clarkson delivers brutal public message to ex Brandon Blackstock amid family legal battle

Kelly Clarkson appeared to publicly call out her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock on Thursday during the opening segment of The Kelly Clarkson Show.

The singer – who is now locked in a legal battle with her former father-in-law – made some telling lyric changes, which you can hear in the video below, during her cover of Gayle’s song ‘abcdefu’, which many fans believed was directed at Brandon, their high-profile divorce, and his father, Narvel.

As she began her Kellyoke performance at the start of the show, Kelly belted out: “F you and your dad and the fact that you got half and my broken heart, turn that [expletive] into art.”

The change was an obvious departure from the original words, which are usually: “[Expletive] you and your mom and your sister and your job and your broke-ass car and that [expletive] you call art.”

To hammer home her point, Kelly repeated her altered lyrics in place of the song’s original chorus.

Fans were quick to react to the seemingly public dig, with one responding on YouTube: “Kelly is putting Narvel and Brandon on some serious blast.” A second said on Twitter: “Oh she real mad at Br*ndon!!”

A third added: “The finger listing at the end, all the eyebrow-raising…we see and hear you @kellyclarkson.”

Kelly is currently engaged in a lawsuit against her former father-in-law’s company Starstruck Entertainment, which managed her for over a decade.

Shortly after Kelly’s divorce from Brandon, who she was married to from 2013 to 2022, Narvel’s company sued her over claims she owed them $1.4 million and a further $5.4 million in future commissions.

Kelly and Brandon separated in 2020, with their divorce and ensuing legal affairs finalized in 2022, involving settlements on their family home in Montana and custody of their two kids, daughter River, eight, and son Remington, six.

Their divorce settlement stated Kelly must pay $115,000 each month in spousal support until January 2024. Brandon also receives $45,601 a month in child support, even though the singer has primary custody of their two children.
