A rare condition left Ashton Kutcher unable to see, hear, or walk.

On Monday, Ashton Kutcher made his first public appearance since he disclosed he had been battling a rare autoimmune condition that rendered him unable to hear, see or walk. Ashton Kutcher was backed by his wife, Mila Kunis, during his presentation.

Following his admission that he is “fortunate to be alive” after he was diagnosed with vasculitis, the actor was all smiles as he was joined by Mila at Ping Pong 4 Purpose, a charity event held at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. The event was held after the actor admitted that he is “happy to be alive.”

According to the Mayo Clinic, vasculitis is an inflammation of the blood vessels that can result in the walls becoming thicker and the path through the artery being narrower. If the flow of blood is restricted, it can cause harm to the organs and tissues of the body.

Ashton provided a preview of an upcoming episode of Running Wild with Bear Grylls: The Challenge in which he discussed the incapacitating symptoms that he had as a direct result of his condition.

“Like two years ago, I had this weird, super rare form of vasculitis, that like knocked out my vision, it knocked out my hearing, and it knocked out like all my equilibrium,” he told Bear in the clip that was shared by Access Hollywood.

In reference to his harrowing ordeal with his health, he stated, “It took me about a year to build it all back up.”

After that, Ashton said: “It’s not until it’s gone that you realize how much you valued it, and until you’re gone, I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to see clearly again.

I have no idea whether or not I will ever be able to hear again, and I have no idea whether or not I will ever be able to walk again. I’m lucky to be alive.”

Following the disclosure of Ashton’s diagnosis, he went on Twitter to elaborate on his health situation. “Prior to this, there were a lot of rumors, talk, or anything else you want to call it. Yes, I experienced an unusual vasculitis episode 3yrs ago. (Autoimmune flair up), “he had written.

“Right after it happened, I started having problems with my hearing, my eyesight, and my balance. I am completely back to normal. All good. Continuing on. See you in the New York City Marathon in 2022 with Thorn!”
