Actor Best Known For His Role In The Hit Series ‘Game of Thrones’ Dies At 36

English actor Darren Kent is probably best known for his cockney accent and his role in “Game of Thrones.” Other notable acting credits include “Blood Drive,” “EastEnders,” “Happy Hours,” and “Mirrors.”

He also has credits as a writer and a director and has six upcoming projects, four which have been completed but not yet released, one that is in post-production and one that is in pre-production. Kent will never get to see those projects to completion.

Kent’s talent agency has announced the sad news that he has died. In a post on X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook, Carey Dodd Associates shared, “It is with deep sadness we have to tell you that our dear friend and client Darren Kent passed away peacefully on Friday. His parents and best friend by his side.” Kent’s agent described him as “one of the kindest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. It has been a privilege and pleasure to have been a part of his journey.”

Kent was only 36 years old when he died on Friday August 11, 2023. On IMDB, his cause of death is listed as “undisclosed.” While his official cause of death has yet to be released, the New York Post reports that he had been suffering from multiple illnesses for a long time. These illnesses include arthritis, osteoporosis and “an extremely rare skin disorder.”

Kent’s big break was in 2008 when he was cast in the film “Mirrors.” Then in 2012, he was cast in “Snow White and the Huntsman.”

Upon hearing the news of Kent’s death, multiple friends and former colleagues have been sharing tributes about the late actor. His friend Ben Trebilcook shared, “Love and thoughts to the friends and family of our talented, caring soul of a friend, Darren Kent, who sadly passed away on Friday.”

The Mushroom Theatre Company, where Kent got his start, also shared, “So very very sad to hear about the passing of our patron @darrenpaulkent.”

Rest in peace.
