Actress And Voice Actress Known For Her Roles In ‘Empire’ And ‘General Hospital’ Cause Of Death Determined

Actress Lindsey Pearlman was best known for her roles on shows including “Empire,” “General Hospital,” and “Chicago Justice.” Her former coworkers remembered her as hard working, talented and hilarious.

Pearlman was last seen alive on February 13, 2022. When she failed to return home, she was reported as missing, and the Los Angeles Police Department asked for the public’s help in finding the lost actress. Tragically, she was eventually found but she was not longer alive. She was only 43 years old.

On February 18th, Pearlman’s body was discovered in a vehicle near Runyon Canyon, a popular hiking trail in Los Angeles. At the time, the LAPD announced, “Today around 8:30 a.m., Hollywood Area officers responded to a radio call for a death investigation at Franklin Avenue and North Sierra Bonita Avenue. The L.A. County Coroner’s Office has since confirmed the individual to be Lindsey Erin Pearlman. The cause of death will be determined by the coroner.”

Upon the news of her death, Pearlman’s husband, Vance Smith, posted on Instagram, “The police found Lindsey. She’s gone. I’m broken.”

The coroner conducted an autopsy on Pearlman to determine her cause of death, but that information was not immediately available. Instead, the coroner statement explained her cause of death was “deferred, pending additional investigation.”

Months later, the cause of death was officially determined and released publicly. It turns out that the coroner’s investigation concluded her cause of death as a suicide. According to the report, Pearlman had “the presence of non-toxic levels of lorazepam, metoclopramide, and codeine” in her body at the time of her death. Her death was determined to be caused by sodium nitrite toxicity.
