Actress Denise Richards Suffers Breast Implant Tragedy During Filming

Sometimes it’s easy to think that celebrities live an easy, glamorous life, but that’s not always the case. In fact, sometimes the projects they work on are anything but glamorous and are actually very dangerous.

Denise Richards recently competed on the celebrity reality competition show “Special Forces Season 3.” She told SiriusXM’s Jeff Lewis Live that she signed her “life away” in order to compete on the show, and she told PEOPLE that her daughters were scared for her and didn’t want her to compete on the reality show.

Richards explained that her daughters “did not want me to do it. They were afraid I was going to get hurt or get killed, and they were actually really angry.” She added, “It was the first time of all the times I’ve done different projects or traveled they were very upset with me.”

They probably had good reason to be worried. Richards describes herself as “not athletic at all.”

So why did she agree to do the project anyway? She said, “I thought, ‘This is the most challenging thing I’ll ever do, and why not do it?’ I was terrified, but once I made the commitment to do it, I was there.”

While Richards survived, she did suffer one big tragedy during filming. She joined her husband Aaron Phypers on “Jeff Lewis Live” and explained that during one challenge when she jumped off a bridge the harness she was wearing ruptured both of her breast implants.

She added, “I still have to get them redone.” She explained, “I was supposed to a month ago but couldn’t because we were filming, so yeah, no, I still have to get them redone.”

She also added that she thinks she’ll have to pay to get them redone herself. Insurance doesn’t cover it, and she assumes that the show won’t cover it, but her husband added, “Maybe we can work that in after the fact.”
