Adele Cries Upon Realizing Elderly Man In The Audience Showed Her A Photo Of His Late Wife

Adele broke down in tears after realizing that an old man watching in the audience at her Las Vegas residency showed her a photo of his late wife on his phone. The famous singer had to address the touching moment on stage once she realized the woman was his late wife.

The “Hello” singer has been holding “Weekends With Adele,” her first Las Vegas concert series, at the Ceasars Palace from November 2022 until March 2023. On the night of her show on Jan. 27, 2023, the Grammy-winning star was performing “When We Were Young” when she walked through the crowd to interact with the audience. She spotted the elderly man flashing the picture of his wife but didn’t realize the whole story until midway through the concert.

“Weekends With Adele” has a routine act where Adele comes down from the stage so she can take a moment to chat or pose for selfies with her fans. Many of these moments have been shared on social media and have gone viral because they also showcased Adele’s sense of humor and rapport with the audience.

One such moment even cracked Adele up after a fan took their photo and used too much filter on them. Adele acted like she was taken aback but also gently reminded the fan, “We don’t look like that, darling.”

Adele also met Rebecca, a fan who watched the show with her group of girlfriends as she was celebrating her divorce. The “Chasing Pavements” singer learned that Rebecca got through a rough time in her married life because of Adele’s music, and the pop superstar addressed her on stage by acknowledging that relationships falling apart can be “really traumatic.”

However, Adele’s reaction to the widower moved millions of her fans to tears as well. The TikTok video upload on @adeleaccess has the highest number of views among all the other videos at over 14 million.

In the clip, the elderly man held up his phone as the British singer walked past his side. He also made a gesture where he put his hand on his heart. At first, it looked like Adele did not notice the old man, but when she returned to the stage to sing “Someone Like You,” that’s when she got all choked up.

“This is for you, sir, who’s showing me his wife on his phone,” Adele said. “He’s just there, can you see him holding his phone up? I think that’s his wife on his phone and I don’t think she’s here and it just really moved me.”

Adele went on to address the widower and apologized for not realizing right away what he was trying to show her. In between tears, Adele told the man, “I’m so sorry for your loss.”

Adele then told the audience how she was so touched by the many stories she learned from them. “I wish you could see what I could see,” she said.

In one of her other shows, Adele intimated that she dreaded performing live; it always terrified her. Prior to her Las Vegas residency, Adele did not consider herself a touring artist but based on the successful run of this concert series, the “Easy on Me” singer admitted she is learning to find joy and fulfillment in that part of her job.

“Weekends With Adele” looks like a truly immersive experience for Adele fans! What can you say about her reaction to the widower? If you know someone who’s a huge fan, tell them about this story!
