Al Roker and his wife get ready for a challenging goodbye

Due to a significant health issue, the much-loved weatherman was away from the program for a period of two months.

Al Roker and his family have had to navigate through his current illness, which has been a challenging experience for all of them.

As a result of blood clots that traveled to his lungs, the star of Today was forced to step down from his hosting duties and take a leave of absence from the show.

Al and his family, which includes his wife Deborah Roberts and their children Nick, Leila, and Courtney, had been praying for his health to get better, and while it has, luckily, done so, Al is getting ready for a difficult farewell.

As life in the family starts to get back to normal, the youngest son, Nick, who has a father who is a parent of three, is getting ready to head back to college.

Deborah sent a message on Instagram in which she stated that it was going to be difficult to see him leave because he had been at home for the holiday season and had been supporting all of them from their residence in New York.

The college student could be seen in the snapshot that was posted by the journalist from ABC doing what he enjoys doing most — he was whipping up a storm in the kitchen.

She congratulated herself by writing “Well done Wednesday.” “Nice culinary work @nickroker155 We are going to miss your talents now that you are going to be concentrating on your studies. #proudmom #favorite #son #gratitude.”

Many viewers have expressed that they miss seeing Al and Nick together in the kitchen because the two of them used to host many cooking segments previously.

As a result of Nick’s move away from home and his enrollment in college during the summer, Al and Deborah now have an empty nest.

After making a full recovery, Al discussed the recent health scare he had endured and expressed his gratitude to his children for being there for him during it.

Deborah referred to the arduous time as “the worst thing we’ve ever endured as a family and as a wife.” She also described the situation as “the hardest thing we’ve ever faced.”

She was successful in concealing the seriousness of the situation from Al, who continued: “If I had known how terrible it actually was, I’m not sure if I would have been able to keep up the cheerful attitude that I had. I had no idea they were in the hallway sobbing when I passed them.”

During the course of the interview that took place on Today, he provided the following additional information: “Nick would pass by every 15 or 20 minutes and lean down, kiss me on the head, and say, ‘I love you, Dad.’”

After a very challenging period of time, Al is finally back at work and is feeling as good as ever physically and mentally.
