Since renowned Today Show weatherman Al Roker revealed he had an aggressive form of prostate cancer, fans have voiced concern for him.
The nation’s favorite weatherman informed his admirers of his health problems, but he regrettably could not attend the 2022 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade.
The Today Show has featured the renowned weatherman for more than 25 years.
His absence from the show, however, has broken the hearts of his adoring following, and he has provided a much-needed update on his condition.
As concerns about his whereabouts mounted throughout the holiday season, Roker posted on Instagram to confirm that he had been having treatment for blood clots at a hospital.
I was brought to the hospital last week due to a blood clot in my leg that also caused some clots to travel to my lungs, he wrote.
However, Roker announced that he was leaving the hospital on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 2022.
“This is how I would describe the parade on Thanksgiving. preparing to depart from the hospital. It’s time to leave this taco stand “Roker stated in a video on Instagram as he was leaving a hospital.
According to Hematology Oncology, cancer patients are four times more likely to experience a blood clot incident than people without the disease, hence blood clots are common among them.
Roker also shared a snapshot of himself on Thanksgiving Day enjoying the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade from home.
“Back home in time to see a tiny portion of the #macysThanksgivingdayparade Missing being next to @savannahguthrie and @hodakotb,” he captioned the picture, looking content.
Later the same day, Roker posted images with his family and wrote: “So extremely #thankful to be able to be home for #thanksgiving #meal with #family.”
Roker was slated to participate in the 2022 Rockefeller Center Christmas tree lighting special with Today anchors Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb, and Craig Melvin on November 30, 2022. However, while he was still recovering, Mario Lopez the actor took his position.
He was reportedly brought back to the hospital the day after Thanksgiving because of blood clots, but on December 8, 2022, he made his way home once more.

He added that he was “lucky to be getting fantastic medical treatment and is on the road to recovery” in his update.
Roker has been relying on his wife and family as he fights his cancer and its repercussions.
Courtney, Leila, and Nicholas are the three children he is proud to be the father of.
Roker has two children, Leila and Nicholas, from a prior marriage to Deborah Roberts, and Courtney from a previous marriage to Alice Bell. Roberts offered a tragic update on Roker’s health after he was brought to the hospital in late November.
Courtney, 35, is married and runs her own successful catering company during the day.
Leila, 24, pursued a profession in journalism out of Paris since she shared her father’s desire for a job in the media.
Finally, 17-year-old Nicholas is enrolled in school and eager to start college.
In a homage to his friend and former co-host Jay Leno, who was injured in a car accident earlier this month, Roker also provided viewers with an update.
Roker uploaded a flashback photo of himself and Leno from ten years ago, before Al had stomach bypass surgery in 2002 to help him lose weight after ballooning to 340 pounds. Roker appeared unrecognizable in the photo.
The images’ captions read: “We wish Jay Leno, one of the kindest and most compassionate people on the globe, a quick recovery. Jay, get well soon.”
