Alan Jackson can’t hold back his tears

At her residence in Newnan, Georgia, Ruth Jackson, the cherished mother of Alan Jackson, passed away. She had 86 years under her belt.

“Mrs. Jackson became a celebrated part of son Alan Jackson’s career and life story as the inspiration behind some of his fans’ favorite music,” read a statement that was posted on Alan’s social media pages announcing Ruth’s death. The statement was made in response to Ruth’s passing and was made in honor of Alan.

On January 12, 2017, just a few days later, Mama Ruth was laid to rest after her passing.

An article on Mama Ruth’s funeral was written and published in the Newnan Times-Herald. It included the perspectives of Alan and his brothers regarding their mother’s life and passing in great detail.

When Alan’s father, Joseph Eugene, passed away 17 years ago, he created a song for him that would eventually become known as “Drive (For Daddy Gene).” Therefore, Alan created a song for his mother the day before the burial services for his mother.

This song’s title, “Where Her Heart Has Always Been,” was reported to have been published in the Newnan Times-Herald. According to the magazine, Alan claimed that performing the song at his mother’s funeral was the “toughest gig yet” he had ever done.

Alan is at long last releasing “Where Her Heart Has Always Been” to the public, even though it has been four years since Ruth’s passing. This track is going to be included on his future album, titled “Where Have You Gone?”

A video clip of Mama Ruth reading from the Bible is played at the beginning of “Where Her Heart Has Always Been.” After that, it moves into Alan’s performance for a while.

When Alan sings about the day his mother passed away, one of the lyrics he uses is, “A gentle sound was calling low ‘It’s time to go.’” In the chorus, he sings of his mother’s ascension to heaven, saying things like:

“And now she is reuniting with her one true love, and she is dancing in the breeze. Wherever her heart has gone, there she will always stay.”

The mournful song is bound to strike a chord with everyone who has experienced the loss of a loved one, and particularly a parent. You can hear it in the audio clip down below.

The song is filled with Alan’s anguish, and you can hear it in every note. We have no doubt that he pines away for his mother horribly.
