Ashton Kutcher Became A Stepdad At 26 To Demi Moore’s Daughters, Reveals He’s Still ‘In Touch With The Girls’

Before becoming the husband of Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher was married to Demi Moore from 2005 to 2013 and stood as stepdad to the actress’ three daughters with her ex-husband Bruce Willis.

Kutcher was only 26 when he became a parent for the first time to Rumer, Scout and Tallulah Willis, who were then barely in their teens. His 15-year age gap with Moore was often the subject of headlines because he was a kid himself. However, in an exclusive interview with Esquire, the star of “That 70s Show” said that he would not have married Moore if he also didn’t love her children.

Kutcher and Moore met in 2003 at a casual dinner with friends. After that get-together, the two were seen about town sharing romantic moments. Two years later, the pair decided to get married and Moore said that Kutcher didn’t have a hard time adjusting to a household dominated by women because he has a “wonderful” relationship with his mother.

Prior to their marriage, Kutcher already built a close bond with Rumer, Scout and Tallulah. Moore’s daughters referred to him as their MOD or “My Other Dad.”

However, the couple also wanted to have kids together and went through in vitro fertilization (IVF). Moore revealed in her 2019 memoir, “Inside Out,” that she lost a baby with Kutcher six months into the pregnancy early in their marriage because she started drinking again. The child would have been a girl called Chaplin Ray. The actress said that they tried to conceive again but her substance abuse problems got worse with Vicodin.

By September 2011, rumors of their split were abuzz, especially after the couple spent their sixth wedding anniversary apart. Kutcher and Moore confirmed the breakup two months later.

Kutcher said in the Esquire interview from January 2023 that taking care of Moore’s daughters was “a lot” to handle as their mother struggled with her sobriety.

“I was twenty-six, bearing the responsibility of an eight-year-old, a ten-year-old, and a twelve-year-old.”

He was also coming to terms with losing a child, but he admitted he wouldn’t change anything about his experience with his first wife.

“For whatever reason, I had to have that experience.”

Kutcher maintained that he still has a relationship with Rumer, Scout and Tallulah, who are now adults and charting their own life. In 2019, “The Ranch” star was spotted hanging out with Rumer at a bar in Los Angeles. Kutcher also signed off his ownership of a Hollywood Hills house he used to co-own with his former stepdaughter.

Talking about his former stepdaughters on Marc Maron’s podcast, Kutcher said in 2020 that he makes an effort “to stay in touch with the girls,” but he doesn’t force them to have a relationship. Lucky for the stepdad, Moore’s daughters want to stay in touch with him as well. The proud stepfather said that he’s rooting for whatever Rumer, Scout and Tallulah plan to pursue.

The actor said that being a dad is likely his most important role, as he is also father to Wyatt and Dimitri, his own kids with Kunis, whom he married in 2015.

While working on “Your Place or Mine,” his new Netflix movie with Reese Witherspoon, the doting dad apparently asked to shoot some of his scenes in Los Angeles, instead of Georgia, so he could still join Wyatt and Dimitri’s school activities.

“I have young kids, and I like my kids a lot. I like spending time with them.”

Ashton Kutcher basically helped raise Demi Moore’s daughters. Isn’t it great that he’s still in touch with them even after their divorce? Do you know of someone with a similar story who can relate to this experience? Go ahead and pass this story along to them!
