The 62-year-old actor, well known for appearing in Blackadder and House, appeared in a very different frame of mind as he took in the low-key affair.
Hugh was spotted walking his beloved dog on Sunday, just days before the premiere of his new sitcom Why Didn’t They Ask Evans. Hugh was wearing black pants and sneakers when he was seen.
Hugh sat in the sun, wearing a navy pullover and a dark blue beanie to keep warm. The mix of the two kept him from being too cold.
The intriguing murder mystery stars an all-star cast and is based on the legendary 1934 Agatha Christie novel of the same name. The book was published under the same name.
Will Poulter plays Bobby Jones, the son of a vicar, and Frances Derwent plays Lady Frances Derwent, Bobby’s bold companion. They investigate a murder together.
It also stars well-known actors as Lady Frances’ aristocratic parents, Lord and Lady Marcham, played by Emma Thompson and Jim Broadbent, respectively.
Hugh directs the show while playing psychotherapist Dr. James Nicholson in the miniseries.
“I liked this book as a teenager, and I still do,” he explained. When I first realized the beauty of the fundamental mystery, the hairs on the back of my neck stood up, and they hadn’t completely gone down since.
“Since then, I’ve grown to love the ensemble of people even more, and I consider it a tremendous honor to have been allowed to tell their tale in this way again.”
“I’ll wear a tie for the shoot and give it everything I’ve got,” I declared.
