Bad news about the ‘Pawn Stars’ Rick Harrison

According to the documents found in the court system, the mother of “Pawn Stars” star Rick Harrison has filed a lawsuit against him in a disagreement concerning the assets of the family and ownership of the Las Vegas firm that has been featured on the long-running reality TV show.

According to a story in the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the civil action on behalf of Harrison’s mother, Joanne Harrison, was submitted to a state court in Nevada on Thursday by Harrison’s attorneys.

As defendants, it names Rick Harrison, the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop, as well as the business entities Harrison Properties and JoRich Properties, among other people.

According to what Rick Harrison said to the newspaper, “The charges are baseless and I think that my 81-year-old mother is being exploited by people for their personal gain.”

According to the breach-of-contract complaint, Joanne Harrison was married to the late Richard Harrison, also known as “The Old Man” on the show, for a total of 58 years before he passed away.

It is alleged that when she was confined to the hospital in either 2000 or 2001, one of the couple’s three sons, Rick Harrison, coerced her into transferring to him her 51% ownership interest in the pawn store.

In 2009, the company was used as the location for a show on the History Channel that also stars the family’s grandson Richard Corey Harrison and a friend of the family named Austin “Chumlee” Russell.

In the lawsuit, it is stated that Joanne Harrison acquired Richard Harrison’s 49 percent share of the pawn shop after he passed away in 2018, but Rick Harrison has neglected to provide her with complete documentation of the business’s financial transactions.

In addition to this, Joanne Harrison asserts that she has been unable to obtain an accurate accounting of more than half a million dollars’ worth of cash and silver that she believes her husband accumulated prior to his passing.

The action requests specific damages, an accounting of assets, an order from the court prohibiting Rick Harrison from using monies that belong to Joanne Harrison, and “a constructive trust” over property that is owned by Joanne Harrison.
