The 44th United States President celebrates his birthday today (4 August)
Fans of Barack Obama have come together today, 4 August, sharing a common thought as they celebrate his birthday.
Many admirers took to social media to extend their warm birthday wishes to the former president and shared similar reactions about his age.
For those who might need a refresher, Barack Obama served an impactful eight years in the White House, following his tenure as a senator from Illinois.
Obama made history in 2008 by winning the presidential election โ the first African-American to do so โ defeating his opponent, Republican John McCain. Four years later, he was reelected, triumphing over Mitt Romney.

During his presidency, Obama made significant contributions, such as advancing educational investments, focusing on environmental research, and introducing the Affordable Care Act. He was also awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for altering many foreign policies.
After passing the presidential baton to Donald Trump in 2017, Obama has remained an active figure politically, lending his support in various elections, including backing his former Vice President, Joe Biden, in 2020. He has also become a best-selling author.
His impressive achievements have endeared him to countless people, explaining the outpour of birthday wishes on social media.
While doing so, many were amazed to discover just how old he is now โ an insight that left many quite surprised.

Believe it or not, Obama turns 64 today.
One social media user expressed disbelief at how young he was when he entered office โ only 47 years old at the time. “The last time he was president, he was 55. Time really flies,” they remarked.
Another jokingly mentioned, “WTF โ he was president like 30 years ago.”
A different fan noted, “He honestly doesnโt look 64,” and added, “Crazy to think heโs already/only 64.โ
Another response read, “Hard to believe he’s 15 years younger than Trump and last served a decade agoโฆ”
Interestingly, although Obama was in his late 40s when he took on the presidency, he wasnโt the youngest to hold the office.

In history, there have been four presidents who were even younger when they were inaugurated.
Theodore Roosevelt set the record as the youngest, taking office at just 42 in 1901. Close behind was John F. Kennedy, who was 43 when he began his presidency in 1961.
Following them is Bill Clinton, inaugurated at 46 in 1993, and Ulysses S. Grant, who was also 46 when he assumed the presidency in 1869.
Donald Trump stands as the oldest president when he first took office, being 70 years old during his inauguration in 2017. This record was surpassed when he assumed office again at 78, making him the oldest serving president, matching Joe Bidenโs age when elected in 2020, though Trump is a few months senior.
