Inscribed on their wedding rings, newlyweds might have anything from a declaration of love to the day they exchanged vows, but one bride chose a hilarious warning that is much more useful.
When Amanda Tallman, 29, and Dan, 30, of Lake Orion, Michigan, got married five years ago, Amanda decided to have his wedding band engraved with the words “Put it back on.”
The pair had enjoyed the ring’s ingenious engraving for years, but this week, Dan’s pal and groomsman Jordan Goddard posted an older image of the engraving on Imgur, sparking an internet sensation.
Jordan added, “My best friend’s wife had this etched into his wedding ring.” The couple is fantastic and hilarious, and this is only a small sample of her comedy.
Fans of the witty message will be pleased to know that Dan and Amanda are happily married with three children. The picture of the phrase scrawled inside Dan’s ring has been seen more than 880,000 times.
Dan claimed that on Wednesday morning he got a text message from someone informing him that the picture of his ring was going viral.
I was unaware that he had posted it. He admitted to Daily Mail Online, “I was astonished, but I thought it was pretty amazing.
The entire incident, he continued, “describes my friendships and my relationship with my wife.” It just makes logical that Amanda would have put that in my ring, and Jordan would undoubtedly be the one to make it go viral if it ever did.
Dan said that when he and Amanda ordered the ring from G&H Jewelry in California, Maryland, he had no idea what the inscription would say.
Amanda handed the worker a message. I didn’t give it any thought, he said. The first time I saw the ring was when I tried it on to see how it fit. I shared the store’s collective chuckle.
“When I gave it some thinking, it made sense because that’s how Amanda is,” I said. Our relationship is characterized by affection, humor, and lots of laughter. We had a wonderful connection before getting married, and we still do.
Dan, who rarely removes his ring, claimed that he only does so while he is working on their automobiles or around the house. Ironically, Amanda lost her wedding band for a month around Christmas before finding it, despite the fact that her band is unengraved.
The ongoing pun was directed at her. Dan added, “All of our pals said she put it on the wrong ring. We located her ring, so everything turned out okay.
Dan said, “I’m simply really fortunate to have such a terrific wife, a beautiful family, and the best friends someone could have.”
“We’re living the dream,” as we frequently proclaim, and this is only a small portion of that dream.”
