Biden Critiques Trump After Poll Shows Obama More Favored by Americans

President Joe Biden has openly voiced his disapproval of Donald Trump following a recent poll that compares how the public perceives both President Biden and former President Barack Obama.

The survey by Marquette University, executed between September 5 and September 24, highlighted the preferences of 1,005 adults, indicating that more Americans favor Obama compared to Trump. The data showed that 42% of those polled viewed Trump positively, whereas 57% had a negative perception, resulting in a net favorability of -15 points. Conversely, Obama was favorably viewed by 57% and unfavorably by 40%, giving him a more positive net rating of +17 points.

Reacting to the poll findings, President Biden criticized Trump, suggesting that the former president has severely damaged American democracy. While speaking at a Democratic Party gathering in Omaha, Nebraska, Biden specifically mentioned Trump’s contentious decision to demolish the White House’s East Wing to construct a new ballroom.

“I anticipated Trump’s inclination for destruction, but witnessing a literal wrecking ball was startling,” Biden commented. “Metaphorically, it’s a representation of his time in office. He hasn’t just affected the physical structure for the people but has also attacked the Constitution, the rule of law, and the very fabric of democracy.”

Biden further took issue with Trump’s assertions of presiding over a “golden age” in America, noting: “The only โ€˜goldenโ€™ aspects seem to be what Trump places on display within his own home. Mr. Trump, remember, you serve the people, not just the wealthy elite. It’s infuriating.”

Apart from political commentary, Biden provided insights into his personal health journey. In May, he disclosed facing an aggressive stage of prostate cancer, which was confirmed with a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) with spread to his bones. This diagnosis came after experiencing escalating urinary issues, as verified by the White House.

Following his recent completion of radiation therapy, Biden conveyed thankfulness for advancements in the medical field: “Thank goodness for the extraordinary doctors, dedicated nurses, and the incredible strides in cancer research,” he expressed. While sharing gratitude, Biden also critiqued Trump’s administrative choices, specifically the funding cuts in healthcare, arguing these decisions have led to increased costs for the average American.
