Blake Lively has an entire sisterhood behind her — and they have her back, no matter what.
The 37-year-old “It Ends with Us” actress has made plenty of headlines since filing a sexual harassment complaint against her co-star, Justin Baldoni, on Dec. 20.
The complaint, which also calls out lead producer Jamey Heath, details the inappropriate and often explicit ways Lively was reportedly harassed while on the set of the film, which was released in August.
On Dec. 21, three of Lively’s former “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” co-stars — America Ferrera, Alexis Bledel and Amber Tamblyn — took to Instagram to share a joint post in support of their friend.
“As Blake’s friends and sisters for over twenty years, we stand with her in solidarity as she fights back against the reported campaign waged to destroy her reputation,” the co-stars wrote in the statement.
“Throughout the filming of It Ends with Us, we saw her summon the courage to ask for a safe workplace for herself and colleagues on set, and we are appalled to read the evidence of a premeditated and vindictive effort that ensued to discredit her voice,” they continued.
Ferrera, Bledel and Tamblyn were referring to a conversation Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, had with producers about Baldoni and Heath’s reported misconduct.
That conversation led to Lively, as well as other female cast and crew members, being granted certain protections on set, such as “no more improvising of kissing,” according to People.
The protections also included “no more personal, physical touching of, or sexual comments” being directed from Baldoni or Heath to any female cast or crew member.
“We are struck by the reality that even if a woman is as strong, celebrated, and resourced as our friend Blake, she can face forceful retaliation for daring to ask for a safe working environment,” the actresses continued in their joint statement.
The “retaliation” refers to an alleged smear campaign Baldoni started on social media in an attempt to silence Lively’s complaint and destroy his co-star’s reputation.
Baldoni’s lawyer Bryan Freedman has denied Lively’s allegations, according to People.
“We are inspired by our sister’s courage to stand up for herself and others,” Lively’s co-stars concluded before urging their followers to “read the full legal complaint” in the investigative New York Times report.
In a separate post on her Instagram Stories, Tamblyn revealed that she was a “confidante” for Lively and is “glad all of this has come to light with solid reporting and receipts.”
Lively’s fomer co-stars aren’t the only ones rushing to voice their support of the “Gossip Girl” actress.
The star’s older sister, Robyn Lively, took to Instagram on Dec. 22 to share several screenshots of the New York Times article, which she also urged her followers to read.
“It calls out those behind the ruthless and nefarious smear campaign that aimed to take down my sister,” Robyn Lively says of the report.
She goes on to call Blake Lively “one of the kindest, most honest and loving humans” she has ever met.
“Blake isn’t a villain. She’s a mama bear to her core, a loving and supportive wife, a sister, a friend, and someone who worked her [butt] off on a film in abominable working conditions,” Robyn Lively continued.
Blake Lively also received support from Colleen Hoover, the author behind the “It Ends with Us” novel.
“You have been nothing but honest, kind, supportive and patient since the day we met,” Hoover said of Lively, per People. “Thank you for being exactly the human that you are. Never change. Never wilt.”
Lively’s public complaint against Baldoni and Heath is reportedly a precursor to a discrimination lawsuit in California, which is expected to be filed sometime in the near future, according to the outlet.
“FINALLY justice for my sister,” Robyn Lively added of her sister on Instagram.
