When asked about his health, Burnet revealed that despite his age, Barker only takes one prescription medication for his thyroid. She further explained that whenever healthcare professionals request a list of his medications, she simply shows them the bottle. This showcases Barker’s good health and the fact that he leads a charmed life.
Burnet also mentioned that Barker still possesses a great sense of humor, which remains in good shape. As they ring in another year, the couple plans to have a simple and quiet celebration at their home, complete with cake.
Burnet attributed Barker’s excellent health to his decision to adopt a vegan lifestyle at her request about 20 years ago. She clarified that this change was made not to replace meals but to enhance his overall well-being. According to Burnet, Barker was not doing well at the time, and incorporating a vegan diet improved his condition.
Having retired in 2007 after a remarkable 50-year hosting career, with 35 years spent on The Price Is Right, Barker’s legacy includes winning 14 Daytime Emmy Awards and 4 Emmy Awards as an executive producer of the show.
Burnet shared that Barker still holds fond memories of his hosting years and believes that his enthusiasm and dedication contributed to his success. His unwavering passion for the job is what made him excel.
