Brazilian influencer Maria Rita Rodrigues da Silva, known to followers simply as Maria Rita, has died. She was 25.

The devastating news was confirmed by her parents, who announced her death in a statement shared on social media, according to the Daily Mail.
“It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved daughter Maria Rita.”
In another post, her parents added: ‘Unfortunately, Maria suffered a sudden illness and left us.’
Her cause of death has not yet been revealed.
Rodrigues, who lived in São Bernardo do Campo, Brazil, built a growing social media presence, amassing more than 11,000 followers on Instagram and over 65,000 on TikTok. She was known for her fashion-forward posts and beauty content, frequently sharing makeup tutorials, product reviews and styling tips, according to People.
News of her death was met with an outpouring of grief online. Fellow content creator and friend Luana Lilian honored Rodrigues in a Feb. 22 Instagram tribute, describing her as a “charming person” and “one of those presences that effortlessly illuminate a room.”
“To the family, I send my most sincere and heartfelt embrace,” the post stated. “May you find strength in the love she planted in every person who had the privilege of knowing her. Her light remains in every memory, in every story told, in every life she touched — including mine.”
Just days before her passing, Rodrigues had posted what would become her final social media update. On Feb. 19, she shared a photo showing off a new pair of sunglasses — a post that now stands as her last.
