Britney Spears Speaks Out After New Details of Her Prenup With Sam Asghari Emerge

“As everyone knows, Hesam and I are no longer together … 6 years is a long time to be with someone so, I’m a little shocked but … I’m not here to explain why because it’s honestly nobody’s business !!! But, I couldn’t take the pain anymore honestly !!! In some sort of telepathic way I have been receiving so many messages that melt my heart from friends and I thank you !!! I’ve been playing it strong for way too long and my Instagram may seem perfect but it’s far from reality and I think we all know that !!!”

By now, most of us have heard the news – Sam Asghari and Britney Spears are headed for a divorce. The motion was filed by Sam on Wednesday (August 16). In the days since, a lot of the attention has turned to the couple’s prenup – which was signed a few days after they tied the knot in June 2022.

According to TMZ, which has sources with direct knowledge of the prenup, Sam isn’t set to receive anything from the divorce – no payout and no spousal support. While he gets to keep any of the gifts Britney gave him during their seven-year relationship (including the cars), he won’t get anything else.

Not only that, but TMZ is reporting that there’s an ‘extensive confidentiality clause’ in the prenup that prohibits Sam from talking about their relationship and anything he knows about her life. And while Sam claimed he has no intention of challenging that prenup, TMZ’s inside sources are suggesting otherwise.

According to the divorce papers that were filed by Sam Asghari’s lawyer, Neal Hersh, the 29-year-old asked for spousal support – which is prohibited in the prenup. The divorce papers also cite community property and quasi-community property, both of which suggest a potential challenge to the prenup.

In the event Sam does receive spousal support and the prenup is successfully challenged, then it would deem the ‘extensive confidentiality clause’ unenforceable. If that were to happen, then Britney Spears will have to live with the fact that Sam could, if he wanted to, talk about her life story and their relationship.

Considering Sam has ‘A LOT of first-hand knowledge about Britney, their relationship, their arguments, her challenges, etc.,’ according to TMZ, that could become troublesome for Britney – especially if certain details about her life,  which she has worked hard to keep private, would become public for the first time.

With all that said, Britney Spears would have every reason to negotiate a separate agreement that would ensure Sam walks away with as much as several hundred thousand dollars. In return, Sam would sign a confidentiality clause – giving Britney the peace of mind she needs as they go their separate ways.

In the days since the divorce papers were filed, there has been a myriad of conflicting statements from sources across the web – you can read more about all those statements here. At the end of the day, it appears Britney Spears and Sam Asghari got into a fight after Sam accused Britney of cheating on him.

On Thursday (August 17), Sam took to his Instagram Story to address the divorce for the first time. “After 6 years of love and commitment to each other, my wife and I have decided to end our journey together. We will hold onto the love and respect we have for each other and I wish her the best always,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, Britney Spears has yet to address the divorce directly, but she did post a photo of herself riding a horse on August 16 – the picture was taken during one of the couple’s vacations together. In the caption, she said she wanted to buy a horse and was having a hard time deciding which one to buy.

Sam Asghari and Britney Spears started dating in 2016 and were together for six years before tying the knot in June 2022 – when the prenup was signed. Some reports suggest they’ve had their fair share of struggles in the 14 months since, but it was that big fight a few weeks ago that ultimately led to the end.
