Announcing Changes Shortly After a Special Visit

Ever since Donald Trump took office again, he’s been making waves with numerous changes.
By February 20, Trump had signed an unprecedented 73 executive orders – the highest number in the initial 100 days of any presidency in over four decades. Yet, it seems he’s just getting started.
Aside from policy shifts, Trump has also been revamping the look of the Oval Office. One of the most notable changes is the removal of a historic piece of furniture.
He’s decided to remove the legendary Resolute Desk from the Oval Office.
The Resolute Desk is a piece rich in history, originally made from the timber of the British exploration ship, HMS Resolute. It was a gift from Queen Victoria to President Rutherford B. Hayes back in 1880 and has been used by many presidents, including Barack Obama and Joe Biden.
The Unconventional Legacy of the Resolute Desk
This iconic desk has been a staple for almost every U.S. president throughout history.
Expressing his thoughts on Truth Social, Trump remarked that upon election, a president may choose from “1 in 7 desks” available. In reality, the choices are usually limited to six.

During a recent visit, Elon Musk’s young son, X Ã A-12, joined his dad. The child, affectionately known as “Little X,” displayed typical childlike behavior, which led to a buzz of conversation.
Little X, appearing restless and somewhat bored during the visit, was caught on camera engaged in a very childlike activity at the desk, much to the amusement of social media users.
The New York Post shared a memorable photo of Little X allegedly picking his nose and wiping it across the historic desk, prompting many reactions.

Comments on the post ranged from chuckles to critiques. One user humorously observed that the desk’s surface “was looking worn out,” regardless of the child’s actions. Another expressed disapproval over bringing children into work settings unless they are “extremely well-behaved.” A third sought levity, jesting about the removal of the desk.
While Trump hasn’t given a definitive reason for refurbishing the desk, the speculation, fueled by the viral photo of Little X, continues.
