Samuel L. Jackson’s Golf Controversy with Donald Trump

Hollywood legend Samuel L. Jackson once sparked a public debate when he claimed that Donald Trump cheated during a golf game. This surprising claim came despite Trump’s denial of ever having played with the renowned actor.
Golf is one of Trump’s favorite pastimes, as seen through his ownership of a dozen golf courses around the United States. However, the alleged game with Jackson stirred up quite the controversy.
In an interview with Today’s Golfer, Trump shared his admiration for the sport, comparing his golfing interest with others’ passion for gardening. “I love to garden too—just in a much bigger way,” he said.
In contrast, whether Jackson has truly shared the green with Trump remains up for debate. Speaking with Rhapsody magazine back in 2016, Jackson revealed he received a bill from Trump’s National Golf Club, even though he wasn’t a member. He added, “I would never say buddies. Or friends. I’ve golfed with him.”
Confident in his abilities, Jackson proudly said, “Oh, I am, for sure. I don’t cheat,” when asked who played the better game.

Trump’s Response and the Ongoing Debate
Trump swiftly countered Jackson’s assertions, taking to Twitter, now known as X, to refute the allegations.
The discussion didn’t finish there. Jackson repeated his accusations during an appearance on The Late Show with Seth Meyers, insisting Trump was not only a regular golf mate but also bent the rules of the game.

“I’ve met him a lot,” Jackson told Meyers. “We clearly saw him hook a ball into a lake at Trump National in Jersey. And his caddy told him, ‘We found it.’”
In a light-hearted moment, Meyers quipped, “Was the caddie soaking wet when he said this?” prompting laughter from Jackson. “No, he was not. He just took off running, and the next thing you know—’I got it, Mr. Trump!’” Jackson chuckled.
He also shared that Trump had personally invited him to the golf course several times, humorously referring to himself as “The Don.”
The engaging yet intense exchange between the actor and the former president added a new chapter to Trump’s well-documented history of golf-related disputes.
