She called on Putin to embrace a vision beyond division, suggesting he could enact change with a simple decision. “Such a bold idea transcends all human division, and you, Mr. Putin, are fit to implement this vision with the stroke of the pen today. It is time.”
The summit itself received mixed reactions, particularly because there were suggestions that Russia might only agree to a ceasefire if allowed to retain control over significant parts of Ukraine held since the invasion. This potential concession is one that Ukraine is not willing to provide.
