Donald and Melania Trump recently arrived in the United Kingdom, stepping onto British soil once again for a much-anticipated visit. Upon touching down, the couple made their way to Windsor Castle, having journeyed across the Atlantic aboard Air Force One. As they stood at the top of the aircraft’s stairs, Donald Trump was observed sharing two particularly notable words with Melania, as interpreted by a skilled lip reader.
Their presence in the UK comes at the behest of an official invitation from King Charles, extended earlier in the year. While relations between the United States and the United Kingdom may currently seem a bit strained, the British Royal Family is aiming once again to foster a sense of camaraderie and maintain a strong diplomatic bond between the two nations.
The invitation was formally issued in July and conveyed by the UK Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, in the Oval Office. The Royal Family’s social media shared a post that read: “His Majesty The King will host The President of the United States of America, Donald J. Trump, along with the First Lady, Melania Trump, for a state visit to the UK.” Accompanying the announcement was a photo from their previous state visit in 2019.
Despite the grandeur of the invitation, the announcement was met with a wave of public discontent, with many voicing their displeasure over King Charles’ decision to invite Trump.
During their stay, a wave of protest unfolded outside Windsor Castle one evening, with demonstrations aimed at the US President. Four individuals were taken into custody after projecting images of Trump alongside the convicted sex offender, Jeffery Epstein, on the castle’s ancient walls.
Upon their arrival, the Trumps were welcomed by the Foreign Secretary, Yvette Cooper, the US Ambassador to the UK, Warren Stephens, as well as Viscount Hood, who serves as the King’s lord-in-waiting. According to a lip-reading expert speaking to the Express, the initial greetings exchanged largely consisted of pleasantries and discussions about their journey to Windsor.

“Ooh, it’s cold. I’m glad we’re wearing our coats,” Trump remarked to Melania.
Yet there was more. Trump expressed his concern about the dampness on the stairs, suggesting his wife take caution as they made their way down.
“Ooh, careful,” he advised, according to the report from Express.
During their Wednesday itinerary, Donald Trump is to be formally honored at Windsor with a royal salute, simultaneously launching from the east lawn of Windsor Castle and the Tower of London.
Throughout their visit, the Trumps are set to engage with the Royal Family, sharing a carriage ride through the picturesque Windsor estate alongside King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William, and Kate Middleton.
Though the President and the First Lady have arrived in the UK’s capital, their schedule does not include any official engagements within London itself.
