Being the third generation of a Mexican-American entertainment dynasty means that even though Emiliano Aguilar is not a performer, he’s in the spotlight.

The eldest son of one of the elder statesmen of mariachi has also made headlines for his face tattoos. He has been keeping a low profile lately with his longtime partner and daughter.

Emiliano Aguilar’s Parents Split up When He Was a Child

Pepe was born in San Antonio, Texas, during a stop on his parents’ Antonio Aguilar and Flor Silvestre’s tour on August 7, 1968. His parents’ body of work in music and film is legendary in Mexico. Pepe also succeeded as a performer, even going up against his dad at the 2000 Grammy Awards.

Jose Emiliano Aguilar, born in 1992, is the product of Pepe’s short marriage to singer Carmen Trevino from 1990 to 1995. Pepe remarried on October 11, 1997, to Aneliz Álvarez Alcalá, who gave birth to Aneliz Aguilar a few months later on April 7, 1998. Aneliz is a social media influencer.

The couple had a son, Leonardo Aguilar, on August 15, 2000, followed by another daughter, Ángela Aguilar, on October 8, 2003. The younger two Aguilar siblings perform with their father. The couple divides their time between California and Mexico. In Los Angeles, they call Kim Kardashian a neighbor.

While living in Mexico, Emiliano, a U.S. citizen, was approached to smuggle foreign nationals into the U.S.A. He was arrested on March 14, 2017, with four Chinese citizens in the trunk of his Chrysler 200 en route to San Diego. He served 18 days in jail before being released on bond.

His defense lawyer, Jeremy Warren, revealed that the 24-year-old was coping with his mental health issues by self-medicating with marijuana. Emiliano pleaded guilty to a count of transporting unauthorized immigrants.

The young man was sentenced to three years probation, of which the first six months were to be spent under home detention in a sober-living facility. The presence of Pepe and other family members and friends attracted a large contingent of the Spanish media court.

Warren was satisfied with the outcome, praising the judge for looking past the fact that his client is a musician’s son, instead seeing “a troubled kid who has done everything in the last five months to fix his life.”

According to a news report from January 2023, Emiliano recently fathered a daughter.

Emiliano returned home with his father, who also gave him a job on his tour “Jaripeo sin fronteras” (“Jaripeo without borders”), on which Ángela and Leonardo also performed. He reportedly also pledged to further his studies.

The reformed convict is in a long-term relationship with Violett Peñaflor. He declared his devotion to her in a July 4, 2021, Facebook post, saying that she makes him feel like the best person he can be. Emiliano vowed to make her happy and protect her from harm.

Peñaflor’s Facebook profile photo is of her with Emiliano as of February 2023, leading one to conclude that they are still a couple.

Peñaflor was awarded her bachelor’s degree in interior architecture from San Diego State University in 2019 and an M.B.A. in 2022 from Grand Canyon University.

She has been a designer with Amy Noel Design in Cardiff-by-the-Sea, California, since 2019, and also freelance as an interior designer. The designer has a child, born in 2012. According to a news report from January 2023, Emiliano recently fathered a daughter.
