During the latest episode of her podcast, โCalm Down with Erin and Charissa,โ Erin Andrews shared some personal and emotional news with their listeners.
Two years after welcoming their first child into the world via a surrogate, Andrews and her husband, former NHL star Jarret Stoll, were expecting their second child via a surrogate again.

However, as Andrews revealed in the May 22 episode of the podcast, she and Stoll learned the morning of recording the episode that their surrogate had miscarried.
โI have dealt with this before,โ Andrews shared through her tears. โThings were going really, really well. Her little heartbeat and her numbers were really good. So much so, I even told you guys a couple weeks ago because we thought we had such good news.โ
Andrews said she considered not recording the podcast in order to grieve with her family, but added that work is โsuch a great safe spaceโ for her during times like this.
โI’m also really, really good at suppressing my feelings, and work really helped me with that,โ Andrews explained. โSo I think one of the things I’m so sad about is I’m gonna have to do a better job with dealing with my feelings with this, because the last time we had such a loss, I didn’t and I suffered with it.โ
The sports reporter added that while recording the podcast, she was โthinking about Taylor Swift song, โI Can Do It with a Broken Heart.โ I’m really good at doing this with a broken heart.โ
But for Andrews, who is a cervical cancer survivor, itโs important for her to be open about how difficult infertility has been.
โYou know, our journeys with two surrogates, because we did lose. We had lost with our first surrogate, and then luckily, with our second one, we had Mack,โ her and Stollโs almost 2-year-old son who was born June 28, 2023.
โItโs really, really hard. I just said that to one of my girlfriends down there, down in my office, when I told her, she’s like, โGod, it’s so freaking hard to have a baby.โ So I decided I would be honest about this,โ Andrews continued.
While a guest on โToday with Jenna and Friend,โ Andrews opened up about her decade long struggle with infertility, calling it โ10 years of hell.โ
โPeople, you have no idea what they’re dealing with, and people deal more with loss than they do with the reward,โ Andrews continued on the podcast.
โI know my husband’s having a difficult time, and I’m gonna go home and be with him. Then we’re gonna throw our little two year old in a pool, and I feel like squeezes are gonna feel a little different from him today.โ
