Everyone loved her for her famous roles in the 90s and 2000s, but now her life situation is dramatic.

In the late 1990s and early 2000s, Tara Reid was perhaps one of Hollywood’s biggest sensations.

With her breakthrough performance in the 1999 movie “American Pie,” Reid became a national sensation. Reid was thrust into the spotlight, yet it all seemed to go just as quickly.

Every time Reid’s name made the news, it was for the wrong reasons, changing her reputation from the “girl next door” to a full-fledged party animal.

Reid’s E! show, “Taradise,” which sadly failed and worsened her reputation, was eventually made possible by the press surrounding her nightclub lifestyle.

Despite a hint of a comeback, people are still reflecting on Reid’s times in the public eye more than ten years ago and what specifically occurred to cause her career to fail in the first place.

1. Tara Reid’s plastic surgery generated controversy.
Reid asserts that her career was harmed as a result of the liposuction and breast augmentation procedures that left her deformed.

She reportedly said, “My stomach became the most ripply, bulgy thing,” when asked how her plastic operations had affected her appearance, according to CBS News.

My abdominal button was surrounded by a large bulge that was a hernia. I was unable to wear a bikini as a result. A lot of my effort was lost.

Reid not only struggled to land assignments, but also her plastic surgery went viral after a wardrobe incident at Diddy’s 35th birthday party in 2004 and left the actress feeling “devastated.”

I sobbed and begged the photographers not to print it when I discovered what it was, but it was everywhere. I was listed as having the ugliest boobs in the world on various websites, she told People.

2. Tara Reid has been referred to be a “party girl.”
According to Entertainment Tonight, Reid talked openly about being bullied in Hollywood and mistakenly labeled as a party girl.

“I took some time off from work. Reid stated, “That was really frustrating. It worried me that people believed I was just a party girl and nothing more, as that wasn’t the case. Receiving a penalty for enjoying yourself didn’t make sense.

The “Sharknado” actress explained in an interview with Buzzfeed that a lot of what was stated about her in the media was never the truth; rather, it was just a perception.

In reference to several of her colleagues, including Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan, Reid remarked, “They all were in jail, they all did f***king sex tapes, crazy sh*t.”

She said that she was always on time and never got into difficulties on film shoots. (The lone instance of her being late to a set occurred in 2018 when she was three hours late for filming 5th Borough because she was kicked off a flight for “disturbance.”)

She responded, “There’s nothing like that about me.

3. She received multiple nominations for worst actress.
Reid frequently battled to be taken seriously as an actor, which was made worse when the parts she did land went on to receive “Worst Actress” nominations.

According to The Things, Reid received nominations for multiple Razzle awards after her popularity from “American Pie” began to wane.

The Razzies, also known as the Golden Raspberry Awards, are satirical prizes given to performers and movies for their flaws and faults.

Reid’s roles in the 2003 film “My Boss’s Daughter” led to her receiving her first two nominations for Worst Supporting Actress and Worst Screen Couple.

Reid’s performance in the 2005 horror movie “Alone in the Dark” earned her another nomination for Worst Actress.

With the exception of one Young Hollywood Award for Best Ensemble Cast for “American Pie,” the movie also brought her a Stinker Award for Worst Actress, which Suggest claims was the only honor she has ever received.

4. Reid acknowledged that her reality show was flawed.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Reid was selected in 2005 to serve as the new host of E’Wild !’s On,’ a trip program that essentially followed her partying activities from England to Croatia.

The name of the program was changed from “Wild On” to “Taradise” after filming was over.

Sadly, the show was canceled after only one season, with Reid telling US Weekly that it was “probably the craziest thing I ever did,” according to CBS News. I had no idea that would destroy my career.

5. Reid was accused of faking love relationships to gain attention.
Nicki Swift claims that Tara Reid and Zack Kehayov were married shortly after becoming engaged.

Reid tweeted that she had recently been engaged when the couple was on vacation in Greece in 2011, and a few hours later she revealed that she had wed there.

Reid had previously been engaged to businessman Michael Axtmann in 2010, but they called it off without giving a reason just four months into their relationship and one month before their wedding, per People.

While leaving LAX in October 2011, the actress also admitted to TMZ that her marriage to Kehayov was fictitious and had never truly taken place.

In an effort to preserve her career in 2016, Reid entered into another fictitious relationship.

Reid admitted to People that she and her “boyfriend” Dean May weren’t actually dating when they appeared together on “Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars.”

“[May] owes money and taxes and he could use the money and he wouldn’t mind the celebrity… so I wanted to do the program for him,” said the producer of the show.

6. Tara Reid abandoned her sobriety following treatment.
Reid entered Promises, a recovery facility for celebrities, in 2008 in an effort to change her life.

Reid admitted to In-Touch after finishing a 60-day program, “I didn’t like the person I was. I felt heartbroken and torn inside. I traveled there alone. I went there by myself. The choice I made was the best one I’ve ever made. My life was rescued by rehab.
